They must have forgot to pass the news this direction as gas dropped $0.06/gal last night to $2.39/gal.

On the news this morning they're predicting $2/gal gas next year. Though economist are also saying that the low oil prices are going to affect employment in the region as drilling slows down and expansions/upgrades are put on hold as well as reduced tax income to the state.

This basically equates to a transfer of wealth. The oil barons lose a little and middle america is able to put more food on the table. Don't worry though, good things always come to an end at some point.

Still, enjoy the windfall of cash while it lasts. Something like 200ish billion dollars more for consumers to spend on other things because of this. Drinks are on me!

I've been seeing windfall of cash since August when I took this temporary assignment and have been getting paid mileage which pays for all the gas I use, servicing of my car, and putting money in my pocket. These lower gas prices just allow me to put more in my pocket.

True. I remember those days of pocketing piles on mileage. That makes me wonder. When do you think the government mileage rate gets adjusted down, if ever? :hmm:

The Oil Thugs are setting the usual foundation of lies to create the usual artificial gas shortage to boost prices.

At least they have started in their home state of Texas.

Be nice to see the price rise start there for a change.

Why must you take the news and then try to spin it into a lie.

It's called mental illness and Dave suffers from a very advanced case, almost rivaling another around here who advocates anarchy.

It's also known as FOX News/MSNBC Syndrome. Twist things to the extreme left/right then report as fact.

Although watching libs lose their shit on every post he makes is truly popcorn worthy.

Bought gas yesterday on the way home from the holidays at 2.399 - used a 20% off Shell card so cost was $1.92. First time in a loooong time paying under $2.00 per gallon.

Dude fix your broken coffee link. I am sure you have way more posts outside of AT than Dave.

I was called out by a member once and he had half the time and twice the posts I did across all forums.

No? I have maybe ~500 across other places I post to, definitely less than 1k total.

Nice going, Obama, with your regulations driving up gas prices and all.

Regulations cause additional costs.

Prices might be even lower if some of the regulations were relaxed.

Also, your may realize that the regulations affect other energy sources as well.

For the 10 millionth time, prices are determined by the market, not by costs.

First U.S. Gas Station Drops Below $2 a Gallon

$2 gasoline is back in the U.S.

An Oncue Express station in Oklahoma City was selling the motor fuel for $1.99 a gallon today, becoming the first one to drop below $2 in the U.S. since July 30, 2010, Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy Organization Inc., said by e-mail from Chicago.

"Today's national average, $2.74, now makes the current price we pay a whopping 51 cents per gallon less than what we paid a year ago."

Pump prices have fallen by almost a dollar since reaching this year's high on April 26.

Oil jumps after surprise U.S. supply decrease

Crude-oil futures rose Wednesday, picking up more steam after a U.S. government-supply report showed an unexpected decline in crude inventories.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude futures for January delivery CLF5, +0.50% rose 50 cents, or 0.8%, to settle at $67.38 a barrel.

January Brent crude LCOF5, -0.72% on London’s ICE Futures exchange changed directions as the session progressed, ending the day down 62 cents, or 0.9%, at $69.92 a barrel.

The Energy Information Administration said earlier Wednesday U.S. crude-oil supplies declined 3.7 million barrels on the week ended Nov. 28.

Analysts surveyed by Platts had expected crude inventories to increase by 380,000 barrels on the week.

The era of oil at $100 a barrel, however, is likely over, Edward Morse, head of commodities research at Citigroup, said in a report.

I have to bold the idiot that said $100 oil is over.

I have a bridge for sale for him too.
