Stay healthy No injuries

This. And clean up the diet. I am going to go back to no caffeine (had been off it almost 2 years when a nice shift change in the military nix'd that... 16+ hour days on a swing shift will do that. "hey, you've got one day to completely change your sleep schedule! enjoy"). Sadly, it is totally on me that I never stopped because I've been out of the military for quite awhile and even then, I stopped that shift months before I got out.

So, no injuries and no caffeine (really no soda at all).

Stay healthy and run. Lost a year of running and missed the past two marathons I've signed up for. Just concentrate on building up a base and working on 5Ks and half marathons.

In addition to maintaining my current levels of exercise, eating, etc my main goal is getting my 10k time under 46 minutes this year. My training for the next 4-5 months will mostly revolve around hitting that mark. I'll probably lose 5-10lbs over my current weight to help that along. My winters are usually spent lifting and not outside running so I have to break that pattern.

After the 10k in April my attention will shift to basketball and getting back to being able to grab the rim again. I'm 33 now so I know my window is closing on that.

I am already on my way! Haven't had a soda in a over a week. Well, I did have some Asti on Christmas, which might as well be soda... yuck! Good thing I had a bottle of champagne to correct that mistake. >_<

I am going to add clean up my diet some more. I want to lose a little bit more fat before actual beach season.

Complete a 70.3 in September. I've got a Sprint in May and an Oly in July to work up to it.

I would love to get my 5k under 20min as well.

Complete a 10k in < 50 minutes. Run at least 4 10ks. I'm getting old, so the times keep getting harder to make each year

Run a 1/2 marathon or two.

Going to third Zivic's "stay healthy no injuries;" specifically, avoiding yet another lower back strain.

-Slow cut for 5-7 lbs while doing cardio on at least a twice-weekly basis and, as much as possible, keeping my strength the same
-Get my sorry squats up to 300# 5x5's from 275#
-Get straight-leg deadlifts up to 400# for at least one of my 3 working sets

Low hormone levels....but is that a fix(?) for aging issues?

off to google...

Which hormone? If it's T, then T replacement is the course of action.

My goal is really simple: develop my left wrist. It's under developed compared to the right and it limits basically every single lift.

500+ deadlift (never tried over 420)
265+ bench (current 1rm is 245)
start squatting again? (I stopped when I injured my back deadlifting a while ago and lost some flexibility while recovering.. nothing permanent).

Seated rows and pulldowns... I want to pull the entire stack. Not even close at the moment

1. Quit smoking. Despite being a runner, I'm a light smoker.
2. Perform a muscle-up. I can do 20+ pull-ups, but I want to progress to muscle-ups.
3. Add 10lbs of muscle (205 --> 215lbs)
4. Participate in more 10k's.
5. As part of my "Operation Never Skip Leg Day", I want to build my legs more.

Should be a fun year!

Gain 10lbs or more of muscle. Try to hit 185lbs by July and cut to 175 by end of year (165-170 right now). Don't really have any specific goals for exercise weight, but I guess pushing 300lbs on deadlifts and squats is my next milestone to meet.

shouldnt it be the other way around? Cut now (or soon) leading into summer, bulk at the end of summer?

Got bored and decided it's about that time of year again. Maybe a bit early but here's what I've got:

2014 Goals:
Weight: doesn't matter, stay fairly lean. I might change my mind and decide it's a good year for a cut but we'll see.
Sqaut: 1x585
Deadlift: 1x625
Bench: 1x405

I think I may have set my goals a bit high this last year. Granted I've taken more time away from lifting this year than I have in the past. I also need to get back in the habit of tracking my workouts in a timely manner, it sucks coming back here and tying out a week or month worth of workouts. And I'm going to be more strict with my diet. Not in hopes of keeping my weight under control but as a way to help improve my lifts. I need a system!

That's pretty beast dude, good luck.

My goal this year is to get as close to 10% body fat as possible. As of right now, Im 17% +/-1%. I will be taking advice some Koing/Zivic threads and dieting with a high protein diet, and aiming for around 2000cal a day. Figure at 10% body fat I should weigh around the 170-175 mark.

If I am able to accomplish this task, then I plan to go on a heavy lift & higher carb diet to gain some mass. My ultimate goal is to be about 180-185 @ 10% or so body fat on an everyday basis. I suspect realistically, if I can manage to stick to my diet and keep at the gym, this would take about 1 to 1.5yrs.

Bodyweight up to 275 lbs on the scale while still making my bodyfat for the military, currently at 267.
Bench press up to 315 1RM comfortably and regularly, I hit 305 2 months ago but currently at 275 or 5x245
Squat 500. I was up to 455 but changed stances, now at 385. I think this is attainable, might run smolov 12 week to get there.
Deadlift 550, currently 505

This would also put me at 5x bodyweight for the big 3 which is definitely a goal of mine.

OH press 225, just did a triple at 185 today with strict form.

I'd also really like to get up to 60 pushups in 2 minutes for the military. My long arms make me suck at these, plus the power training that I've been doing doesn't help a ton, which is why my bench goals for the year are modest.

Unfortunately I leave tomorrow for a month of training and may get to lift once a week at most. When I get back though I'll hit the ground running. The only thing that will hold me back, ironically enough is Army PT.
