2014 Steam Holiday Sale

No one gets excited about Steam sales now because it's a mature platform and everyone has Steam and everyone has already bought all the good deals in the previous 20 sales. Until a few years ago a lot of people still didn't use Steam but that's now impossible for a PC Gamer.

Also, Amazon has better deals more often than not.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero comes out on Steam today, maybe it will happen to be on sale too, kind of like what they did with Metal Gear Rising?

Just picked it up for $14 discounted but for some reason, Steam is nowhere near maxing out my connection, cannot wait for this!

It's supposedly a really good stealth game. Some reviewers panned it for having crappy combat, but those people kind of missed the point (combat is pretty much a failure state in Styx. The game is 100% about sneaking.)

Hard to justify Rome II when I have all the earlier Total War games and haven't played any yet.

I kickstarted Divinity OS and need to get my key. I'm interested in Styx also.

What are the rules again?

Rocksmith (for me and a friend), Rome2, and Metal Gear all look interesting. I heard to go for GMG for Metal Gear and I'm willing to do it as long as it activates on Steam.

I just can't remember if I'm supposed to buy it, or wait for a difference sale.

Even Euro Truck Simulator looks interesting...man the wallet is easily going to bleed over 100 bucks, but as long as I maintain a 10:1 ratio (ie: about the same as movies...10 dollars per hour lol) or less I'm okay with it...kind of.... damn steam...

Got it for 4.99 last big sale, huge bang for the buck at the price point. Really enjoyed it.

Keep waiting until the game is :
(a) A daily Deal or
(b) A Flash Deal or
(c) A Community Choice Deal.

If its the last day of the sale, and it hasn't hit either three, then and only then, you can buy the game. That way you always pay the lowest price.


So Are "FEATURED DEALS" the equivalent of "daily deals"?
I'm assuming "NEW DEALS EVERY 12 HOURS" are "Flash Deals"

IMO The Total War Series is about continuously better graphics....and fixing shit that they broke previously ;-)

I haven't played any of the new ones, and almost all my effort has been on Rome I (which I suck at but still love), but it seems that the AI hasn't really remarkably improved even though the series has been around for ~15 years at this point.

Not to threadjack, but the reason I barely played Empire was because the AI was so broken at the time of retail. I've heard it got better. One day maybe I'll go back to it, I really enjoy that time period in history.

Original Sin is $32 right now. I'm waiting for a daily deal, though. I just learned about this Endless Legend an hour ago, and now I'm looking out for that.

Though, I spent a lot of time playing Elemental when it was released (the game that eventually became Fallen Enchantress), and it looks identical for the most part. Maybe more polished? I never played Endless Space, so not sure what to expect/how to compare in that regard.
