Does this start today?

I think the excitement over the Steam sales has really died around AT. Back in the day, we'd start talking about this weeks before it started.....we'd share funny vids and gifs of GabeN stealing our wallets. We'd share leaks of games on sale/sale prices.

This year: nothing.

I miss Ka0tik and his game recommendations.

Regardless, Happy Festivus everyone and if the sale does start today, I hope everyone gets what they want at the price they want it at. I'm just looking for EE versions of the D&D games myself.

And don't forget to sell those Holiday Trading Cards earlier vs later as their value will diminish as the sale goes on.....

I might grab lords of the fallen if it is cheap enough. Still unsure. Talos maybe if it's cheap but it won't be.

I wish Inquisition was on Steam. I have $50 in my Steam Wallet right now from a birthday gift and nothing to spend it on!

FFXIII-2 maybe, if it is cheap enough. Dungeon Defenders 2, if it is cheap enough.

Project Zomboid looks cool. Bloons TD5 as well.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero comes out on Steam today, maybe it will happen to be on sale too, kind of like what they did with Metal Gear Rising?

I wish Inquisition was on Steam.

I think this is another reason Steam sale excitement has diminished: their rift with EA. Looking back on past Holiday Sales, I grabbed DA:O, ME1 and ME2 during past sales.

I'd love to grab DA:2 and ME:3....but can't do it through Steam now. Bummer.

I have around 440 games in my Steam library. Of course most of those are non-AAA indie titles but still it's hard to get excited anymore.

Unless you are opposed, you can get those games periodically quite cheap through Origin. I picket up ME3, DA2 and Kingdoms of Amalur for $4.99 each not all that long ago.

I have too many unplayed games already, and yes the EA rift has kept me from getting ME 3, DA 2, DA:I.

That, and EA being jerks about not offering complete versions of ME 2 - 3. They sell the single and trilogy versions without the DLC then make you buy it with EA points.

No, not really opposed, but since 95% of my gaming library is on Steam, I don't tend to monitor Origin sales that much.

Amazon has had these games dirt cheap from time-to-time too.

Just keep in mind that Origin pretty much never puts the DLC on sale. Steam does. You can get ME3 for 5 dollars . . . but it'll cost you another 30 dollars to get Omega, Citadel, and Leviathan. DA2 is the same way.

Edit - Sale has started by the way.

Edit 2 - Because Steam is going up and down.

Your wish is Steam's command.

Don't get Ground Zero off of Steam.

Go get it off of GreenManGaming. They have a 20% off code that stacks on top of the base sale price that matches the steam sale.

I got the game for 10 CAD

Total War Rome 2 is looking good for $15.

Don't see any mention of badges giving cards, nor the items you could get like for TF2 or Path of Exile... am I just missing a link somewhere? Would like to see what items PoE has this time around.

Yeah, looks like you can get it for $10 or even $9 from places like Nuuvem. It activates on Steam anyway.

i think everyone's just lazy. There was a sale a couple of weeks ago plus the two back to back gog sales that's hurting everyone's wallets.

rocksmith 2014 dlc at 50% off is a good deal. speedrunners looks kind of cool for local coop.

Oh, I didn't even notice Speedrunners on sale. It's a phenomenally entertaining couch-multiplayer game, even though it's in early access. I'm usually skeptical of early access games but I was at a buddy's house a few weeks ago and he showed it to me. It's a very simple but adrenaline-fueled experience, kind of like Nidhogg.

Found the link explaining the cards during the sale, but no mention of other items for in-game use, like the Path of Exile helmet skin I got before...kind of sucks they aren't doing that again.

Opened 24 booster packs today, and not a single foil. Was able to craft a few badges though. Sale cards are only going for $.15 instead of the usual beginning prices of $.40+, so hopefully they go up so I can get some free games.

Been on the fence about Space Engineers, anyone got anything good to say about it?

Yeah, interesting they're only doing the community voting thing once per day....giving everyone one card per day. That's not having the effect on the market I would have thought (i.e. higher initial prices).

16 days of the sale and it takes 10 cards to get a badge....so a free badge is definitely possible here, like past sales.

I may finally pick up Dishonored this time around. I'll wait for a daily/flash sale though.

the problem with steam sales now is that they put the same game sup for sale very time and then everyone already has them. even if there are new games, they aren't discounted enough.
