The 2014 Steam Summer Sale has started!

This year it's running from June 19th, 10am PDT to June 30th, 10am PDT

STEAM SALE GOLDEN RULE: READ THIS FIRST!
Do not buy anything that is not a daily/flash/community deal till the last day of the sale. The reason is said game could become a daily deal and be cheaper. Saving a buck or two like this equals another game in a sale like this. In *most* cases if a game is 75% off already it wont get cheaper though.

Daily Deals change at 1pm EST and last for 48 hours.
Prices will take a few minutes to update as the store is being pounded even though the new games will be up on the front page.

Flash Deals change every 8 hours 1pm EST, 9pm EST, 5am EST

Community Choice changes every 8 hours 1pm EST, 9pm EST, 5am EST Vote ends 30 mins before new sale starts

That's one I MIGHT grab, but I don't expect to ever get around to playing it.

I loved the first one. Including the combat and silly booby cards. But I did think it was too long in parts. But I'm compulsive about side quests.

I'm hoping this one is better. And shorter.

some of these deals are weird as hell. Early access title at 20% off? Dead Rising 3 pre-order for 25% off? Those two seem like a waste to me. The flash deals are really good though

Not going to lie, the cards concept annoys me and turns me off to the game. I passed on the games during the Holiday Sale because I thought it was such a stupid, childish thing to throw into the game. Maybe I'll change my mind this time, but not sure yet.

Anyone got any insight on DMC: Devil My Cry? $12.50 still seems a little high, since I never played the games before DMC4. Liked its campaign, but I'm not too good at the pacing and combo-building the combat wants you to pull off.

In addition to the sale is the bonus Steam Summer Adventure. Collect, trade, and craft 10 Summer Adventure cards that can only be earned during the sale. Players can earn in-game items, community rewards, and points for their team by crafting badges throughout the sale. At the end of each day, the team with the most points wins.

30 randomly selected members of the winning team who contributed points by crafting badges that day will win 3 games off their Wishlist. Players are randomly assigned to one of five teams and through crafting can earn tokens which grant bonus points, steal points from other teams, or switch the player to a different team. All the details on how to participate in the Summer Adventure can be found here.

The booby cards have nothing to do with the game. You don't even have to access them if you don't want to. It is a bit childish, I will admit.

But I loved them. I love fantasy art and boobs. These cards combined the two.

So a crazy scam to have you spending all of your Steam game money on the trading cards so you MIGHT the team (of 5) to win, then be one of the 30 (out of probably a couple thousand) to win games?

Sounds like a ridiculous scam to have people spending a ridiculous amount on the cards...or they want us to buy a bunch of $3 junk games to get cards.

DmC isn't nearly as strict as its predecessors about combos. It's not nearly as hard to get a good rating in combat, but you will lose it if you get hit. I think DmC is also a great way to prove that you're lysdexic depending on how often you fall to your death because you hit the wrong trigger button.
