Except you can use the team tokens to change teams. Of course the token for the best team would be relatively expensive, but if you have the money to blow...Teams were randomly assigned.
Punctuation, have you heard of it?So you are suggesting that instead of people setting out to set a trend that even mapped out the days perfectly to the actual winners you believe that was Steam rigging the winners and eliminating competition where cards would be bought and sold in a fevor netting them .03 a pop voluntarily changed the policy to force competition because some forums suggested that they were rigging it?
Anyhow, if I'm understanding you correctly: I am suggesting that Valve didn't take dog piling (AKA team stacking) into account, and that all the heavily invested (i.e. "best") players would eventually join the same team to make sure they won. Furthermore after it became clear that the game was a failure, Valve rigged the results to make it seem fair. Otherwise people get really, really cranky that someone else is getting something for free.
Meanwhile forum users have no influence over this, other than perhaps providing a convenient scapegoat.
People dog pile in video games all the time (see: TF2), so given the ability to do it here I would certainly expect to see the same thing.
