I don't understand why anyone cares about the Summer Adventure game. Even with 60 people "winning" now per day, you still have an extremely small chance of actually getting anything. At best, probably something like 60 out of 150,000 per day.

Agreed. I just sell the cards immediately. I had $5.50 sitting in my wallet from the last sale and cards I've gotten through games and another $2.00 with this sale so far.

What would be interesting is a contest where the winner gets every game on Steam for free for life!

The chance to win free games is a fraction of a fraction of a percent at best. Pretty trivial no matter how you slice it.

And duh the only reason badges/cards/etc exist is to make Valve money.

people tried to 'game' the rules, steam changed the rules. i really dont understand why people have to make every single thing a conspiracy.

I think that must be a group of people out there that do this on purpose, probably to keep the common man from seeing what is really going on. But I've seen through their ruse! :sneaky:

that was done in like 2011 summer sale. Someone won the whole steam library (to that point i think)

Same here. I've been selling them as I get them....50 cent range, then 40 cent, then 30 cent, now 20 cent range.

I've darn near earned back half of what I paid for The Witcher 2, which is the only thing I've bought so far.

I hope Skyrim comes back during the sale. Have heard too many good things about it not to give it a try as my first RPG. Picked up Hitman: Absolution for $5, but that's it for me so far.

I also don't have the first one....just bought Metro LL. Usually, it says on Steam if you need the Base Game to play any additional content......Metro LL doesn't. So, I think we're good. :thumbsup:

Anyhow, if I'm understanding you correctly: I am suggesting that Valve didn't take dog piling (AKA team stacking) into account, and that all the heavily invested (i.e. "best") players would eventually join the same team to make sure they won

You don't really know how the "adventure" works do you?

But the teams are picked randomly. You hit a button to join the contest and your color is chosen for you. Even if your right and the redit stuff isn't helping, then its happening naturally as one team takes a lead the other teams hold out on making badges till the next day. Either way one team is creating all the badges they can one day and the rest not. That means less transactions on the market place, which means less money for Valve. That's why they changed the rules, they want even if the winner is established early that the rest of the teams don't give up.

It's not required, but the ending of the first one does play into Last Light. Metro 2033 is a great game and in some ways better than Metro LL. Metro LL I think appeals to more people vs. 2033, but by all accounts it's still an excellent game.

I bought New Vegas and Fallout 3 this year on sale. I haven't touched them yet... I am afraid I will end up missing too much sleep If I play them like I did Skyrim.

Yea I dunno how I felt about skyrim..I guess for me it was ok. I always have a problem in games like that where I dont know what to do or where to go lol.

Might as well get both metro games and play them through.

Although, I loved the destiny alpha on ps4 and that is also open roam around type.

Metro 2033 is an amazing game. Well worth the $2.99 it's going for right now.

Yup I went and bought them both. So I've got brothers and the two metro games. I spent a total of $13 bucks. I really have to pay more attention to these sales in the future.

You should definitely play Metro 2033 if you can. Great game. But it is a separate game than Metro LL.

Yeah, that's been my plan (since only getting into PC gaming since last summer). I've picked up a lot of the really good titles (that got very good reviews) on this summer sale. I'm doing my best to not (overly) clutter my library with any title that's just a "good deal".
Like you, time to play them will be a different issue....
