I played ACI and ACII with a controller and I know exactly what your talking about. It pisses me off that there is no controller support in that game. Ubisoft went cheap when they ported it.

Huh? Every single Assassin's Creed game for PC has full support for Xbox360 controllers. Are you using a non-360 controller by chance?

No. I'm using a wireless Xbox360 controller. There is no support for that. There are plenty of fixes though which are a pain in the ass and never work completely perfect (no rumble, triggers don't do what they're supposed to, etc.)

I see. I've played AC1 with a wired 360 controller and it works perfectly out of the box, rumble and all.

Yeah, I should have been more clear in my post (I've edited it now) that the issue is with wireless xbox360 controllers.

Even though I mentioned that I like kb+m, I am in the market for a controller for my PC. Just to confirm, even though the wireless controller can be wired through usb to my PC, it still has issues? Or were you using a wireless dongle?

Has anyone has success using the new XBone controller at all? I'd prefer a wireless solution but I obviously would rather not waste money on something that won't work right.

Make sure you guys have Enhanced Steam extension installed. Those Assassin's Creed games on Steam require uPlay and uPlay accounts, and become unplayable about 50% of the time when Ubi's server's go down.

I had 3 of the wireless PC dongles over the past.. oh 5-6 years ( 2 microsoft, and 1 generic ebay one). All 3 of them crapped out on me, but he controllers of the same vintage work fine ( on the XBOX360)...

Since then I have went with an actual wired xbox360 controller for the PC (not wireless wired through USB), so far so good.

I played AC: Brotherhood, Revelations (about 20 minutes of it anyway) and AC4 with a wireless 360 controller with zero issues. AC2 is fantastic, but I played through it on PS3, so I don't know how the PC port is.

I really like the XB360 controller. I'm not a fan of wireless anything really, so wired for me. The cord is very long and anyway at the PC it only needs to be a few feet.

I got a newer AC game with my Nvidia card but haven't even redeemed it yet (hope it hasn't expired!). But I played a lot of AC2 with the 360 controller and it was great. A lot of games are set up for it so you don't have to do any bindings or anything.

I've been working my way through the Assassin's Creed series as they've each fallen in price and AC3 has now fallen to a point where I'm considering it.

The Deluxe Edition is $12.49 while the main itself is only $4.99. And then there is the Season Pass, which looks like additional content that is not in the Deluxe Edition? Perhaps this is one to wait for the Winter sale (or beyond) until they combine Deluxe+Season Pass for $15 or less.

The AC3 Deluxe Edition has the season pass content.

Wow, both Europa Universalis 4 (daily $9.99) and Crusader Kings 2 (flash $7.99) are on sale right now, both totally absolutely 100% recommended! Between the two of them there goes 700+ hours of my life.

The steam sale page says I've earned 3 or 4 of them but I only see one for this summer stuff. The rest are from games I've played. The one I do see from the summer sale I think is worth 18 cents. I'll have to log in tomorrow at home and go through my profile. From now on I'll keep an eye out on the seasonal sales more closely. Is there a thread for one each time?
