2014 Steam Summer Sale Thread

Did you sell all your achievement cards or what you just newly got from this summer sale? (or both??)

I save up all my cards between sells and put them up for sell on the first day of a Steam Sale, the price of cards tends to go up during sales. I also got lucky this time and got 2 foil summer sale cards, the first one I got was my very first card on the first day of the sale, which I sold for something like $3.80.

I of course failed in selling my (only summer sale) cards. I only sold 1 card for .23 LOL.....the other dozen or so cards (originally around .25 - .35 cents) I added about .10 to each card and wanted to see what happened. Looks like I may have expected to get too much for them and didn't want to mark it too low.

Do you guys sell them at the price shown or mark it up?

I usually undercut the price shown by 1c to make sure they sell right away (they always do).

I put them at the price they are all going for, mine generally sell fairly quickly at that rate.

Since I almost always put my cards up at 10-11 at night (when I get off work.) I tend to take what ever the going price is and add 2-3 cents. Then each evening I take down what ever didn't sell during the day and re-list them using the same rules. I think I have like 2 cards I haven't yet sold. If they don't sell today I might take those cards and spend 20-30 cents buying the others and craft my very first badge, since I've never crafted a badge before.

I bought exactly nothing. First Steam sale in a while where I've managed to resist temptation. Although it probably helps that I still have dozens of unplayed titles from prior Steam sales and I was moving to a new apartment over the last few weekends. Steam makes it really hard to download games without a working computer or internet connection.

It's even worse when you have bought things and can't play them due to using a limited 4G connection for a few weeks. 15GB to last 3 people from June 16th to July 1st and GoG & Steam sales happen in that time frame... not nice.

I got about 1TB of games (multiple PC's) to download once we get Fibre back, most from this years sales but some updates/DLC for existing titles.

Only got Kerbal Space Program from this sale, mostly because a friend has gotten into it and I know they've modded in MP (it'll be a release feature eventually). Really wanted Rocksmith 2014 when it was $15 but was busy most of the day and didn't get around to ordering it :|.

And that's all. I didn't bite on Far Cry 3. I know it's highly rated and people love it, but I'm still burned by Far Cry 2 and has turned me off to anything Far Cry. Maybe when it's $5.00.

Far Cry 3 is worth it. I hated Far Cry 2, and I thought Far Cry 3 was great. Maybe not as great as all those people praising it as GOTY, but vastly more enjoyable than Far Cry 2.

I still think this sale was overall lackluster but I won't complain too much because one of the things I bought dropped a trading card that currently sells for over $25! The worst part is I don't think I can bring myself to sell it. It's the Star Trek: The Next Generation foil card and I'm a huge Star Trek fan.

One way I avoid spending money is if there's a sequel on sale but I haven't played the original, I don't buy.

I agree with AP. I hated FC2 but enjoyed FC3. I didn't see it to the end because life distracted me, but I liked it. I dropped FC2 in just a couple hours and never wanted to go back to it.

pretty happy with my purchases, more than enough games to play for awhile... I hooked up my XBox controller to my PC to play Skyrim, but it's making me wish I had a more comfortable seat that just my desk chair.

I picked up PAYDAY 2 (meant to get the Armored Transport DLC but forgot), and my cousin and a friend online got it for us to play together. I got Borderlands 2 GotY (which I have on 360 already but don't play), as another online friend wanted someone to play that with. My friend was dumb and got the base game for $5, then bought the GotY for another $10 because the Season Pass alone was $10 (which is moronic, especially when they hide the GotY edition as a separate title from the base game). I also got Civ V: Complete Edition as I couldn't tolerate having no strategy game anymore. The friend who got BL2 said he'd get it but didn't, so I regrettably have no one to play that with (and I've got a lot of learning to do with how that game works).

If anyone wants to add me for any of those 3 games, feel free.
