Grabbed Mortal Kombat Komplete.

AKA: 3D Slut Simulator.

LOL! Yeah, I saw an early MK on the PS3...and it's boobs and crutch and REMOVED punt all over the place...

Well that's annoying. I guess I should have waited for their 'Complete Pack'.

Any suggestions on which additional DLC is worth getting?

If after a hundred hours or so with the same character you feel like level 61 (which takes a couple of solid complete playthroughs plus part of a third) is not enough then get the second vault hunter pack.

Other than that, you get all of the major DLC campaigns as well as the additional player classes (Psycho and Mechromancer). This means you can play six classes through three playthroughs each to cap your levels, which is hundreds of hours of play. Chances are you will be burned out by then, but maybe not!

There were a few "head hunter" packs released as well which are like one hour campaign DLCs. They are sort of fun (and cheap) but not necessary in the least.

Bought a few games so far, but have been playing Sniper Elite V2 that I got free not long ago.

Pretty good game, if a little clunky on movement sometimes. Reminds me a bit of the Thief games.

I gave it a go this weekend too. I wasn't impressed. The sniping is fantastic. But if you're in a firefight....moving, hiding, firing are really frustrating.

Thought about picking up Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition, but the Steam Forums for it are filled with nothing but people complaining of Games for Windows Live issues.

Not sure if the devs planned to patch out GFWL from DS1 at all, but given Microsoft's wishy washy attitude towards the broken service, I'm not sure I want to spend 5 dollars.

Ye.

I mean just look at the MC score for it. Great game, don't know of a single person who played it and didn't love it.

It's definitely worth the price. But I didn't love it. Part of the problem is that it's really more a stealth game. If you play it from a "kill 'em all" perspective, like I did, it becomes a bit repetitious.

Really seems like the daily competition is rigged. Diff team wins everyday. Now the only team not to win has already jumped out to a sizable lead half an hour into the new day. In the future Valve, just make it anyone who contributes each day enters the lottery.

Reddit started a push to have every color get two wins. And while it seems unlikely that one small subreddit could pull this off, it's much more plausible after looking into it.

So let's say 1000 people follow this and at the beginning of the day they push the "correct" color. Now, by 2 PM you see Blue has a pretty decent lead. If your color is blue, you will probably try and cash in your points. If you are one of the other colors, you may hold off to see if your team will catch up so you don't waste your points on a day your team won't win.

That just lets the snowball grow.

FWIW, here's Reddit's schedule:

Purple - 6/19
Red - 6/20
Green - 6/21
Pink - 6/22
Blue - 6/23
Purple - 6/24
Red - 6/25
Green - 6/26
Pink - 6/27
Blue - 6/28

I'm pretty sure the first have been correct so far.

think this is more plausible than Steam rigging it. what would be the point of them doing so?

To make things look more fair, and to prevent backlash from whiny 15-year-olds on losing teams, is my guess.

meh. i think people on the winning team, once a team starts to pull ahead, do more buying and crafting. if your team starts to fall behind, it's less spendy to just wait until the next day to see how your team is doing.

it might be rigged, who knows. i guess im just not that into conspiracy theories.

I guess it depends on your view on these games.

I view Borderlands as fps Diablo.

Diablo doesnt even start until you hit the max level cap.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat.

I've had problems with GFWL / Microsoft .NET.

But my brother has been raving about Dark Souls and I think $5 is the lowest price I've seen for the Prepare to Die Edition.

its a great experience, even if you dont have the online aspect (which sometimes its actually a good thing because you will be able to play without getting invaded every 5 minutes)

I also only played single player, so I can see the extra level cap being more important for online play.

Also inclined to think this is true. Only an hour into today and blue team is already over the 110k mark and 3x more than any other team.

Armed Assault 3... Not bad but I'm not paying $30. I'll wait for the $15 or less sale.

What's faster than light? Looks like a point and click space game ?

I have gotten more game time per dollar out of FTL than any game I've paid for. Only World of Tanks (free) has more bang for the buck. According to Steam, I have 1,020 hours playing FTL. . .

Yikes!

I don't care about the online experience at all. I do care about actually being able to start the game and save locally. Previous GFWL titles, I've had to install the GFWL client, muck around getting it to accept my login, reboot PC multiple times, etc.

Thanks for the great response! My 'OCD' side of me still wants everything (and a little mad I didn't realize it in the first place because I'm sure they will eventually release a 'complete pack') but I'll play the game through before buying anything else.

Off topic I know, but since you clearly know the game well, what are your favorite classes?

Well, so far this sale has been just plain disappointing. I haven't bought anything yet. To make matters worse, one of the things I really wanted had its discount dropped from 25% to 10%. I guess that "wait for a flash/daily/community sale or the last day" things isn't always the best plan. It's depressing to think 25% off is a price mistake during a Steam sale. (and we're not even talking about a new release or anything) Oh well.

Also, does anyone know if games from the daily/flash/community sales may repeat in other forms? I know in some previous sales they did but I'm not sure if that's happening this time. There was one game already on sale that I'm pondering but only if it goes on a deeper discount again. Thanks.

I know I wasn't asked, but I'll share my experiences. I started out playing as Zer0 the Assassin. It was alright up until level 20 or so, and probably about halfway through the story. (I have a tendency to do a lot of side missions and grind a bit) Around that time, his special ability kind of became useless. Maybe it was because I didn't follow the right paths in his skill trees.

I decided to start over as Axton the Commando. My view is that his ability is the most beneficial, especially to a solo player. His skill tree also lends itself well to boosting HP and Shield stats, and lots of HP and Shields isn't a bad thing. Throwing down his Turret can get you out of a lot of situations where you're beset by a bunch of enemies, and if you put in the skill points it can create a shield barrier which can protect you.

I haven't tried the Siren or Gunzerker, and don't own the DLC for Mechromancer and Psycho. Playing online you'll see numerous Mechros though, and their attacking robot ghost thing can be pretty useful. I don't know their skill tree though. You'll see some Sirens, and to me they seem like a support type character. They're a bit more beneficial to a group as opposed to going it solo, in my opinion. I have no first hand experience though.

I really don't know much about the Psycho. I tend to hate any I come across online. Their whole thing is to be crazy, and rushing around doing massive melee damage. I've found they tend to die quickly in a large firefight, and this can be annoying. It would be better to have someone who's got average weapons but can stay alive instead of someone more focused on one enemy who may die a lot and you have to wait for them to get back to the fight.

That's all just my two cents based on my experiences, and also from playing on PS3 though I don't think PC would be much different if at all.
