I have a general question, as I'm debating on my next monitor purchase which will determine the dollars I spend on a GPU(s) and I plan to purchase in the next few months once one of these products are released. I'm trying to decide whether 4k @ 60hz, or 1440p @ 120hz is better. It would seem that I would want GSync regardless (although I hope AMD's FreeSync gets some traction). I personally would like a 29" - 32" monitor, although I might go for 27". My current monitor is at 24", and is a bit old.
Right now, I play a mixture of games such as Skyrim, FFXIV: ARR, Wildstar, Borderlands 2 (& 3 when it comes out). I know with 4k I could probably turn the antialiasing off, while the 1440p would still need it.
Do you all think 4k @ 60hz or 1440p @ 120hz would provide the best benefit?
Edit: I originally considered an Oculus Rift (or other VR headset), but based on what I've read that still needs a generation or so before considering a purchase.
