Have a spot where I want a 32" 1080 but can't find one for a price I think is reasonable. Hrm...

So no real deals on OLED screens this year? Disappointing. The one 65" 4k LG for $5k is the standard price on Amazon...

Thank you very much for posting this! I ordered one
If I hadn't taken advantage of a BB daily deal to get a 40" Toshiba for my living room just last week, I'd be tempted to order one of these myself as a 3rd monitor for the wall over the desk in my "office/den/workroom", where my desktop lives. But with Christmas expenses looming fast I figure it'd be profligate, and I half expect to want to replace the 40"er in as little as a year anyway, when I'll recycle that as a 3rd monitor. It's not like I actually need it, I only occasionally use both of the 2 I have hooked up now (one of which can more than handle HD with its 2048 X 1152 resolution.). But it would be kind of cool to have a TV-size screen available for the PC....

I'm assuming that Best Buy Toshiba 49" for $149 is a limited quantity door buster. Damn, need a new bedroom TV to replace our 32", but I'm not waiting in lines.

Yep, and I've been seeing very little in the way of noteworthy deals on < 4K TVs, especially smaller (< 50") ones. Most of the TVs retailers are making a big deal about are 4K, and I don't know their usual pricing, so I don't know if even those deals are worth writing home about. Your best bet is probably just keeping an eye on daily sales over the next week or so.

I've added the following to the OP. As always, the stores are listed in the OP in alphabetical order:

BJ's
Fred Meyer
MicroCenter
Navy Exchange
Newegg
panasonic.com (not plasmas!)
Shopko (mostly in-store only)
Walmart Thanksgiving
WalMart Cyber Monday

If you follow the slickdeals thread, there are plenty of people who bought it beforehand at full price and using their credit card's price protection (Discover, Chase, Citicard) for the difference. No waiting in lines.

Something to keep in mind for next year, no doubt, but while I'm not sure about 11/24, that set wasn't available for purchase online as of yesterday, even at full price.

All the TV's are sold out already.

You know damn well its like one or two assholes who bought up everything then plan to put them up on eBay before they've even received the things.

Most of those deals are meh imo. The labor day deals were better. Picked up a Westinghouse 55" 1080P for $379 on Labor Day from Best Buy.

It was always in-store only and it was made specifically for BF (not a genuine Toshiba). You had to find a BB store that was willing to sell it early and some people did as early as 11/19. Some went to many without luck. I was in luck at the second one. I think they were just glad to be making so much profit at the time. Not sure how the cc company gets their money back after they give us the difference after the claim.

Is that true of all the "Only at Best Buy" models, or just the the Black Friday in-store-only models? I'm wondering about the Toshiba 40" (40L310U) I bought (online) last week for $200...

Probably not from the same people who think to take advantage of really significant price difference claims, but in general, from the interest they make on the average cardholder. And they still make a nice, tidy profit./

I imagine that they have some sort of deal with the retailers that says that they can force a price match against the store's own price within a certain number of days after a purchase if the customer requests it. Essentially it wouldn't be different than the person bringing the item back to the store and returning/repurchasing on the spot.

I was at the local Walmart and they did have a few 40" HDTV for $150 plus sale tax. The brands were Emerson and Hisense.

And the local BB still had the Samsung 40" for $317 (60p) and $360 (120p) late in the evening. I was surprised those TVs were not sold out.
