Dumb play by the Utes. Illegal forward pass in the endzone on the kickoff for a safety that gives the Sundevils a 1 point lead.

edit: Whatever coach came up with that stupid play should be fired. Nay, drawn and quartered.

I can't believe the dumb plays I'm seeing tonight.

It was a hilarious beat from a Buckeye's perspective.

haha I bet it was, especially because the MSU player got hurt on the play and probably is done this year.

You guys will have your hands full with these two down the road! Whats lame is all three teams are in the same division. I have a feeling these 3 teams are going to knock each other out of the playoff. Something like OSU beats MSU, but UM beats OSU. So some strange tiebreaker, but then that team loses to Iowa in the conference championship game.

Let me guess, you went to Northwestern.

heh naw, never seen seen Iowa play this year except for the highlights of the beatdown they gave NW. The Big 10 seems pretty good the last two years, so maybe Iowa is just flying under the radar. Their schedule is kinda weak so I don't know if anyone knows if they are really any good. I could see them bushwacking one of the three from the East in the conference championship.

With a conclusion like that, more likely an SEC school...:sneaky:

I've seen it in the Pac 10 over and over. Usually its frickin Stanford knocking off the best team in the Pac 10 and dropping them enough so that they can't get in the title game.

So you're a Mountain West fan. Got it.

San Jose State is getting their ass kicked tonight.

Thats a bad beat...if he would have fumbled it normally it probably would have been fine, but to toss it to a guy running full speed towards the end zone... Don't know if I should laugh or feel bad for the guy. I think I will stay shocked for the time being.

That punter literally tossed away Michigan's playoff spot, considering the only team they lost to was Utah.

To be fair, it wasn't a toss at all. He was trying to scoop it up and in the process he was hit from behind, which knocked him forward and the ball flew out.

But he should have fell on the fumble instead of trying to recover so that he could still kick. Giving them the ball at that position would have been a heck of a lot better than risking them recovering the fumble or blocking the punt at that point.

edit:

Gotta say, I kinda felt bad for UM. And I'm bummed it resulted in an injury (from his own teammates!) for that MSU player. I like a good game, I don't want games handed due to injury. When OSU faces these two teams, I want them to have the best record they can achieve, so if they were to lose, they lost to a respectable team, but when they ultimately win, it's that much sweeter and gives OSU more cred.

I was torn on who to root for. I'm not one of those OSU fans who will root against UM no matter who they play - I like strong conference play and root for the conference, but mostly root for how the conference can provide the most favor to OSU. Other than that, then I like to see the conference win out so will root for them in bowl games or to win when OSU has a bad year.

I felt like watching UM win would help a one-loss UM to rocket ahead in the polls under Harbaugh's leadership, but it would hurt MSU's position so it wouldn't be as strong in the polls when OSU faces them. But I think I preferred MSU to win so that it still provides the potential for MSU to be undefeated when they come to Columbus and, depending on the way the season unfolds, still gives them the remote chance to see a big bowl game berth or, unlikely, a playoff spot. And UM can still look like a great team with two losses if they continue to kick ass in the other games before OSU visits that whore.

Auburn with poor play calling in that last series
They should've stuck with what has worked but they suddenly take deep ball shots when it is critical to get at least a first down?

I had money on Auburn winning so I'm a bit angry

I couldn't believe that. Rumored to be alcohol involved. How shit hammered do you have to be plow your car into a parade? Unbelievable.

I think the current rumor is also not any alcohol. Other drugs, perhaps, but there may also have been actual intent to commit this grave action.

Ohio State looks alive!

I was behind starting Jones the entire season, because he had turned it up to Beast Mode the entire post-season. But it looks like he may be a Post-Season only kind of guy, where the huge adrenaline and super-focused practice sessions allowed him to find that Beast Mode but leaves him vulnerable and unable to find said mode throughout the regular season.

But now that Barrett is back at the reigns, I say... don't look back. He even seemed to have a nice touch on some long balls, or at least moderately long. Jones was a huge threat with that but it seems our offense, especially without Tom Herman, may be unable to really focus on such a pass-heavy game (or at least when Zeke doesn't have to carry all the weight on his shoulders). Barrett brings back the designed QB run, and he sets up scrambles beautifully, saving plays all game long. There are now so many threats on the field, and it just feels like they can all be more effectively utilized.

And it just seems like the team itself is behind Barrett more... he is a more natural leader, far more mature, and the offense just clicks with him. Simply being out there, even when he was only there for a few plays in previous games, it is like he just assumes all command, with all his Offensive subjects displaying unwavering loyalty.

I am now far more excited and in anticipation of the bigger games of the season.

Yeah, OSU finally looked good and in control... albeit against Rutgers.
I have wanted Barrett all along. He is so calm and collected. My only concern is his size and getting injured.
Jones has Rothlisberger size, so I don't see him getting hurt at the collegiate level.

It's fun seeing Braxton Miller as a star WR.
He's not thrown to a ton, but when he is, it's a big spectacular play.
I haven't heard anything about his draft stock.

Sure it was only against Rutgers, but they have looked decidedly not in control against opponents of a similar level. So for a roughly apples to apples comparison, they look a heck of a lot better, like they are all on the same page. We'll see. I'm bummed there's a by week, can't wait to see how they look against the rest of the B10 (or is it B1G? lol)
