i get 38 mpg in my fit, mostly highway but a little city.

Yeah, I think the redesigned Civic advertises 39 MPG. We've gotten as high as 42 MPG on long flat highways, which is pretty amazing for a non-hybrid, non-premium-gas vehicle. Even with mixed city it's almost always about 30 (33-34 mixed highway), which is amazing because my Soul never breaks 30 anywhere haha.

I own a 2012 sports model. I really like it and it's amazing what you can haul in one. So far I have hauled a hot water heater in box, A treadmill from Sears, also in box, Two 55" samsung Smart TV's boxed.
So yeah, it's space efficient that's for sure. However my real, actual gas mileage which is a mix of city/highway daily is around 30mpg in summer and 24mpg in winter..cause I let it warm up of course. It does occasionally go up to 34mpg and I should also mention I'm far from a lead footer, I accelerate slowly cause I always leave early and never get in a hurry. I just drive normally and never speed past 5 over the limit, but I also have the normal city stop and go traffic as well which imo is the real world, not what some company says I should get.

The paddle shifters are a gimmicky joke imo. I fail to see the point but perhaps I'm just used to a real clutch and shifter and I like to actually have some feel to it. Also it's a bumpy riding car as well....but for the price it's a great and dependable car.

Not bad, looks like a whimpy Mazda 3 hatchback.

But mine has a Ford engine and a lot of stuff I guess.

In all honesty. I would rather get a base Civic with just air than this ugly thing. Heck even a Matrix looks better than this thing. Pass.

I have the redesigned base Civic (2013 LX) and while it's a great car, the Fit feels a lot bigger inside (bubble design) & is way more versatile thanks to the Magic Seats. Given the choice today, I would go with a Fit again in a heartbeat. It's not as extreme of a design in-person as the photos make it out to be. Also, I've driven friend's Matrix & Vibe and the Fit is a way better car imo.

Very interested to see what the HR-V brings to the table as well!

Yeah, I'm really interested in the new high-MPG engine/CVT combo. 35 MPG real world sounds great! I was disappointed with my 2010 Fit's MPG, honestly - seems like it should have gotten far higher, so I'm happy to see the new one breaking 30 MPG consistently. I too wish the paddle shifters weren't limited because they would actually be pretty fun otherwise!

You'd like the suspension in the new Fit too...huge difference. I mean, it's still a small car & you'll still feel big bumps, but it feels smoothed out in the same way the new Civic feels smoothed out. Noticeably different, in a good way, and still fun to drive & throw around corners.

As far as storage capacity goes, I really like that the Magic Seats can go totally flat. My Kia Soul's rear seats don't go flat - they are slightly angled (I don't know why they just didn't make them go flat), and it annoys me to no end when I'm hauling computers & stuff because it slides down into the trunk portion. #firstworldproblems

Saw a hipster-looking dude today walking out of the vet with a cat in a cat carrier in one hand, starbucks coffee in the other, getting into a Fit. Can't get more Seattle than that.

The Fit is an excellent city vehicle (my aunt owns one), but I don't like the way that modern car styling is getting more and more ridiculously "swooshy" for no reason.

How the hell do the rear passengers see out of their windows? lol
Restyling is something car makers just kinda have to do otherwise people either feel bored with it or feel it might not be as upgraded as another car maker's.
That one looks ok to me but it needs a spoiler kit ASAP.

Once I get my current Fit paid off, I think I will get me another one since I'm too cheap to spend $30 + grand for an SUV which is what I really want.

The new Fit is near the top of my shopping list. Trying to decide between it and the new Z06. I only wish they would release a hybrid Fit and make my decision easier.

I have no idea how cross shopping those two cars could create such a huge buying dilemma. A more apples to oranges scenario is hard to think of.

How about a base corvette AND a Fit for the same price as the Z06?

Probably way less to insure a base Vette and Fit compared to a Z06.

Really? I had tried to Photoshop it to what I thought was a ridiculous extent, but I suppose it is plausible that automakers would release such a thing.

Eh not really...I was all over the map with my last car. It got down to the new Camaro (30MPG & $21k on special) or the Kia Soul (30MPG & $15k - the stick shift model was only available in Base trim)...I went with the Soul because I ended up hating the Camaro, way too wide for my tastes & horrible blindspots everywhere.

While yours is certainly a 1st world problem madoka's is 1%er. If he's really contemplating a Z06 and not talking out his ass getting a Fit can be solved by raiding the couch cushions for spare 100's.
