I thought the Gurley pick was weird. The Rams picked up Tre Mason last year. And he had a decent rookie campaign. Why the need to pick a 1st round RB? Especially one that is injury prone?

Otherwise I thought Cleveland actually did well last night. If that trade was on the table for Mariota the Titans are effing stupid.

Any opinions on the pick(s) you liked best and the pick(s) you liked worst?

While Winston may be very good he is a huge risk and could be a Ryan Leaf. I think the Bucs did poorly by not moving out of #1. I get it that this class had maybe 15 at most true Round 1 grades (strong mid round draft, weak at the top) but if they could have gotten Cleveland's 12 and 19 and either a young impact player or 2-3 mid round picks (e.g. a couple 3s and a 4th over the next 2 drafts) they are bound to hit on 3 of the 5--one could even be a stud. That is a better risk/reward than Mr. Crablegs.

Same holds true of the Titans, although I like Mari-o-to. Would like him much better in a Chip Kelly offense well designed for him.

I like the Gurley pick by the Rams at No. 10. I think, if they let him heal, he could be a impact player for years.

As I mentioned above, due to the lack of sure fire 1 round talent, I like how they parlayed that into a proven star. There are some impact players left on the board but some have issues (DBG) and others, like Gregory, are similar to players they have (Irvin) who took years to develop.

Dupree to Steelers the best. Dorsett to Indy probably the least, but CAR picking Shaq Thompson was just as baffling considering their needs. And it's not a draft if Cleveland doesn't screw up somehow:

Carolina drafted him to play linebacker first two downs and big nickle on third. He has range and speed and wanted to play linebacker. Great fit for him and Ron knows how to develop linebackers. Dont doubt the crazy eye!

Dorsette isnt really a reach either. His three cone and short shuttle was better than Amari cooper at his pro day. Guy has TY style of change of direction and if you ask Luck loves TY.

Colts now have the best receiving core in the league IMO. Well Bears and Colts now

Not saying they are bad players, but relative to needs they were a reach. In CAR, Cam Newton needs an OL and weapons other than Kelvin Benjamin. Indy needs DL and a RB worth a damn since Bradshaw is gone. Completely baffled the Colts passed on Brown and let him slide to the Pats.

I think Seattle had the best pick so far. Jimmy Graham for a 31st pick and a center is pretty good, if you ask me. =)

I actually am surprised Dallas picked something they actually needed again. I just knew Jones would screw it up, but a good CB would be a god send. They really need some defensive depth. I'd have been happy with a DL pick other than CB.

I am a bit surprised the Titan's didn't bite on that King's Ransom for Mariota. But, I get their position. They need a QB and QB depth this year stops at pick 2. Not only do they need a QB, they need a franchise QB. Can Mariota be that? Who can really say, but still a good pick.

Also, watched an E60 about draft day and they had Arian Foster talking about him waiting. He said he was so upset he fell so much that when Seattle called him about drafting him in the 7th round he was like "sure, whatever." So, ofc, they passed.

Wow, if true, how do you not take that if you are the Titans?? Crazy!

KT

Never happened:

The Eagles, as Kelly said Thursday night in Philadelphia, never offered players as part of a package to obtain Mariota. In fact, The MMQB learned Thursday night that Kelly never offered the widely rumored packages of either three first-round picks or two first-round picks and Sam Bradford, in an attempt to obtain the second pick of the draft.

Never happened:

When a team says something never happened they are saying that no official offer was ever sent. There were off the record discussions and frameworks but nothing outside of spitballs.

Official offers only happen when they know they will be expected so players dont get butthurt but they do anyways.

Leak season is comical

Wondering how early Brett Hundley is gonna go. I could see the land of Cleve drafting him just to piss people off.

Great pick considering the starting center disappeared when it happened I like the trade but losing a starter is gonna hurt beastmode early in the season.

And Foster is an idiot. Giving yourself red flags is the work of a simpleton.

He admitted he wouldn't have drafted himself with how he acted. He was young and angry, you can't expect him to act great under those circumstances. I mean, these are guys that are told they are the best of the best their entire lives. And, after all that inflating of their egos, to get snubbed is a major blow.

Regardless, it is fairly clear he is worth more than a 7th round pick now.

Also, I have little doubt Seattle will have trouble pick up a center. Let's be honest, how many teams can legitimately advertise they are contenders for the SB? They can literally send out a bulletin to agents: Need a center willing to be snap the ball in the next SB. And, people will come.

Unger was hurt twice and missed most of last year. Availability is pretty important. He also missed games in 2013 and played hurt (underperformed). Seattle ran the ball well with Unger out which, at his age and number of injuries + $6mm contract, expendable.

I wouldn't say it is all clear sailing but moving on from Unger needed to happen sooner or later. Which stinks because I like him.

The bigger issue for Seattle is they are lost the C and LG, LT Okung is always injured. His backup, Bailey, is the lead candidate for LG. And the RT spot will have second year Pro Justin Britt who was a pass blocking turn style.

As much as Seattle needs a big WR and Safety depth I don't think may Hawk fans would complain if all 11 picks were OLine and Dline. Depth / Age / Health / Contracts are eroding both away quickly.

Very interesting WR for the Jets.

And I love when they bring back the retired players to call the picks, and Butkus was hilarious.

Glad Marinelli gets to shape that kid. interesting that he called out and asked to be treated like Dez. Glad he took the humility route.

Lael Collins didnt do himself any favors by saying he wont sign a contract. Just too musk risk I feel bad for the kid. Ill reserve judgement so early but teams have to be risk averse.

Great safe picks by the bears. Goldman is stout and has great strength. His arms are a little shorter than what fangio likes. Grasu was a guy I liked for the bears a long time ago in the threads and his relationship with Kyle Long will only help. Grasu is also a first generation Immigrant and has a strong huge family behind him hes a great character guy and has a tremendous work ethic. If he can get a little stronger he could beat out our starting center who is essentially a journeyman.

Still a bunch of good guards available. Been a great draft so far with few real wtf picks I have to say. A couple of guys seem like reaches but most are really vauluble and rare.

Cant believe Tyler Lockette lasted that long. Bunch of good safeties left with Cody Prewitt Anthony Harris and Chris Hackett and Ibrahim Camble.

Some interesting talent still available. Both the Oklahoma tackles are interesting for the next few rounds and Buck Allen , Jeremy Langford, David Cobb and a bunch of other interting RBs still available.

Tons of depth

Man 49ers basically drafted all the players I was hoping the bears would grab in the subsequent round though I was never sold on armstead. Think the Harold and Tartt picks are steller. Harold is faster and bigger than Randy Gregory and Tartt is a HARD hitter. He looked like the best safety at the senior bowl at times. Gotta say Niners have done pretty well.

Think the Vikings have hit every pick so far as well.
