Never too early to predict this NFL season's Super Bowl! I make this thread every year around this time. Everyone makes their SB picks before the season beings, and then we revisit the thread at the end of the year to see how people did.

If your super bowl picks are wrong: no one really cares, but if you're right, you look really smart and get bragging rights! You can take a look to see how people did Last Year - vi_edit was the only one to predict a Denver/Seattle super bowl, and crashtestdummy was the only one to predict Seattle winning it all.

For Superbowl 49, I'm going with New England vs Green Bay with The Packers winning. I have little confidence in my picks this year but that's my best guess.

So, now it's your turn. Who do you see making it to the Super Bowl this season?

Grown men who get paid millions to play a game (lazily, at that) will act like whiny little girls. An ever-decreasing number of people will give a shit.

What do I win?

Cowboys vs whatever AFC scum makes it through. 34-3 Cowboys win.

Actually, for the Cowboys to realistically win the score will probably have to be 63-56. Cowboys win in a shootout!

I got a feeling that Seattle isn't going to be as competitive this year. Some guys got paid, they lost that chip on their shoulder, and there's a lot of hard miles on the Beast. I also think that the crackdown on defensive holding/bumping in the secondary is going to hurt that physical defense they have.

*If* Green Bay stays healthy I think they rise out of the NFC. AFC is Denver's to lose.

I'd like to see Peyton get a 2nd ring and go out a winner with Denver winning the SB this year.

Seattle vs Patriots.

Seattle D pounds Brady in the ass for victory

I's agree with that but Denver added some key pieces during the off-season and draft as did NE, really it comes down to who stays healthy, Welker is already out with a concussion and he had 2 last year. Gronk is back and may play in the opener, if can stay healthy he's the best TE in the league but given his history that's a big "if". Seattle did lose Browner in the off-season (Pats) but will still probably have the best defense in the league, Don't count Brady out though, remember he made his chops with the dink and dunk game and with Edleman, Amandoela, and Vereen out of the back field he can get the ball out fast. I was disappointing in them releasing LeGarrette Blount though, he was the power back they haven't had in ages and he (unlike Ridly) rarely fumbles.

IMO, the NFC will come down to Seattle and New Orleans and the AFC will come down to Denver and New England. Denver is better than New England and Seattle is better than New Orleans. I believe we stand a very good chance to see the first back-to-back Super Bowl rematch since the Cowboys/Bills in the early 90s.

I think the Colts still lack the defense to be a serious threat to make the Super Bowl.

I wouldn't be so quick to lock in on Denver, the Pats did lose to them in the AFC championship game but considering the lost Wilfork, Mayo, Gronk for the season it's a testament to how hard they play for BB that they even got to that game, now they added Revis and Browner in the secondary and as usual whoever manages to stay the healthiest and has the deepest bench will play a big part.

Dumbest post of the day award?, I'd like to see you face to face tell ANY NFL player that he acts like a "whiny little girl" and I hate to break this to 'ya but the NFL is as popular as ever and may eventually expand into a European version one day.

LOL - Denver will not make it this year.

How about 2 teams nobody expect to do much; Lions v Bengals.

I'm going on a limb, here.

If Green Bay stays healthy, I'll say they win the Superbowl over the Broncos in another Manning big game chokefest blowout.

Denver stocked up in the offseason and have a great chance to make it back to the Super Bowl if everyone remains healthy.

The Lions? LOL! You forget who they hired as their coach.

Actually IIRC the Bengals have made it to the postseason the last couple of years but have not won any games when they get there. The Lions do have a good QB, Megatron, and can ring up points quickly but the team lacks discipline and the defense has issues at DB and safety.
