Do a search of dealership inventory within a 200 mile Radius. Find the dealership with the largest inventory of the vehicle that you want on hand. Then narrow the search to the vehicles that has been sitting on the lot the longest, it is usually the most expensive one they have on hand. Be prepared to spend the whole day (I was there for 9 hours), negotiations on car prices isn't fun and is completely exhausting. With all of this, plus letting the dealership know that you know the 2016 Camaro is about to be announced, making the Camaro you are looking at as being already obsolete, then you start working on price. DO NOT at any point mention that you have a trade-in, even if you do, I'm sorry to say, lie. Once you get to your negotiated price, then mention your trade-in.

So, the sticker price of my Camaro was $43,480 and I bought it for 33,166. I misstated and said I got 22% off. I redid the math and it was a little over 23%. I traded in my 2003 Trailblazer and got $4,200 for it plus I got window tint, stripes, and wheel locks for the Camaro. So $28,966 plus TT&L after trade in.

Great deal. How did you find the inventory age? I used to walk around the lot and make a deal on the one with oldest inspection sticker, but we don't have those here. LOL

I'll disagree here. There is no need to spend 9 hours at a dealership negotiating, period. Plus I mention my trade in up front, but you need to do your own research on trade in value and what you are willing to pay for what you want before you go. If you don't mention the trade up front, they'll just low ball your trade in to make up the loss on the car price.

I got 15% off on my challenger and just shy of what I paid for my jeep on trade in less than an hour. I went in, told them what I wanted to pay for the car, what I wanted on trade and their first offer was WAY off. I laughed, told the sales lady to cut the crap back and forth game, get the manager and tell him the numbers. It was that or I walk away, simple. The manager came out, I told him the same and his next offer was within $250 of what I wanted. I said done, signed the papers and drove off in my new car in less than an hour.

He tried to sway me based on the cars options but I advised him it had features I didn't really want nor was willing to pay for. I also told him I've been watching their inventory and other cars with less features were selling faster due to price, and this one has been on the lot for a while. He knew I was serious and i did my research so he leveled with me on pricing and we agreed his number was the best he could do. I agreed.

This new Camaro and the new Mustang look so uninspiring. Just horrible misses from Chevy and Ford. Best to just go with the base C7 Vette.

As someone who owns a C7 I think the new Mustang is a fantastic car (I've test driven at GT). From the pictures, I think the new Camaro looks great too. Performance wise, with a 200 lb weight drop and the new LT1 under the hood, I can't imagine it being a let-down (as the LT1 has more torque down low than the LS3).

What did you expect them to look like / be? Both the new Mustang and Camaro seem to be modernized pony / muscle cars that still have plenty of retro cues.

Not the first I4 in a Camaro and this particular I4 Turbo is shared across many vehicles so it makes sense.

Ah yes, I stand corrected. I forgot about the Iron Duke 2.5L engine they used.
I guess I tried to block that from my memory.

Interior looks improved, but there's one thing that bothers me. Those massive vents placed oddly low. I just feel like they would annoy the hell out of me blowing air in that position.

Bland. Creases curves and panels inspired by impalas. The current gen camaro looks WAY better than this tapioca pudding. The interior is where they tried, and failed, to have some style. Transformers was a decade ago, why take your interior design cues from a decepticon?

What a hot mess. At least it's got a hot motor with the V8. I hope they took the chassis dynamics up a notch too. Current car handles really well. She won't be much to look at but when the lights go green.....

There are zero retro cues on the new Mustang (which is fine), and the new Camaro just seems like a another bad design "update" from the original 2009 design. I was hoping for the Mustang at least to be a completely redesigned car from the ground up with an exciting new look. But nope, that didnt't happen. With the Camaro, I wasn't expecting as much. Just update the body style, SLIGHTLY, and redo the interior. That didn't happen either. IMO, for retro, the best looking designs were the 2010 Mustang and the 2009 Camaro. Performance wise though, the newer versions are a definite improvement.

While the interior is nicer than the previous model, I don't really like the new interior either. Well, mostly the driver side Dash. The gage cluster is too tall. comically so.

I like the look of the new mustang better, but to me this is a step in the right direction for the Camaro. What interests me the most are the ATS chassis and the corvette engine for bargain prices. Looking forward to driving one of these.
