$37k for a Ford Focus. GTFO.
hows that any different then an STI, or Golf R?
I think the main differences can be found in both the front and rear of the vehicle, impacting mechanical reliability, design, and interior quality.
between this and the miata, I need to make more money.
REALLY liking this car. Pleasantly surprised by the AWD. hopefully it's around 30k
It's $37k + options, and they won't sell a gazillion because they're only making a few thousand each year.
The markups will be large on these, expect 20-30%, at least.
In years past I might agree with you. Current fords are a new generation. They aren't like the used to be. in addition this car is being manufactured in Germany.
Manufactured in Germany makes it quite a bit better.
The interior of my Ford Lightning was garbage compared to even a low end european car.
You are WAY out of touch with pricing for what you think are "limited production" cars. A few thousand a year would put these in the realm of Fiesta ST / Focus ST sales. Some stupid people (or people in cali as their local dealers are nuts) will pay an ADM for one of these if they have to be the first person to have one (and are not willing to work and possibly buy out of state for a good deal). Just because a handful of people will pay 10k to be the first owners of something like a GT350 or one of these doesn't mean that's what they will sell for after they are in production for more than a few months. A few stupid people were paying ADMs on stingrays when the rest of us were getting them for at or just over invoice not too long ago. Only someone who doesn't know how to buy a car is going to pay an ADM on something like this. This is not the new ford GT.
I do expect them to be in line with Evo X and STI prices. I wouldn't be surprised with a price point of 35-37k with options pushing over 40k (especially if they approach 350hp). If they start at 30k I'll seriously consider selling my Evo for one.
where did you see the 37k?
Ford dealer, "You'll be lucky to get one for under $40k, after mark-up. Ford's sticker will be $37k". I'll probably be ordering, if I decide to get one.
Not really concerned about your opinions regarding what constitutes "limited", STs aren't exactly plentiful either, my local Ford dealer sells them as fast as they arrive, if not before, for 10-15% over sticker. He doesn't care what your opinions are on the practice, especially not when there's a line of people out the door willing to shell out the extra cash. Don't like it? Place an order and wait, but the new RS will be $37k + options and destination.

what ST is limited? focus st's come with tons of money on the hood.

I'm happy for you, but around here they don't.

then shop elsewhere.
I just looked at truecar in my area: 2014 focus st's are 3k+ under msrp, 2015 are 2K+ under msrp.
I've been on focus forums, your region must be special if people are paying over sticker for a focus st, or the people there are just dumb.
I got $3500 off my 2013 in May '13 with no rebates...a quick search of Autotrader shows dozens across the country for under $22K and it looks like there's a $2500 rebate available right now.
Hopefully there will be enough RS's to satisfy the demand and keep prices lower.
1 and 3 are what I like about it. People are also complaining about it being a 5 door.... Again, yes please.Like someone else posted about walking away. I'd be willing to pay up to invoice, past that, there are plenty of other good cars I'd be happy with.
The appeal of this car will be limited. 1 Manual, 2 very expensive focus 3 a bit ricer styling. Its like the brz/fr-s, but worse since its stick only, the appeal is limited
In it's defense, it was a pickup truck lol.

Don't worry - it's nebor. He's anti-domestic. Never mind that the lightning was made 20 years ago.
Damn those pintos. Just shows Ford's unsafe.
