Just a partial list of albums expected this year:

Ryan Adams
Arcade Fire
At The Drive In
Beck
Chromatics
Dirty Projectors
Drake
Fleet Foxes
Gorillaz
Grizzly Bear
Haim
Jesus & Mary Chain
LCD Soundsystem
Lorde
The National
Nine Inch Nails
Real Estate
Ride
The Shins
Sky Ferreira
Spoon
Bruce Springsteen
St Vincent
Ty Segall
Vampire Weekend
War on Drugs
Wolfe Parade
The XX

That's just a staggering list of currently great bands. Did these bands start hanging out together so much that their cycles synced? I almost think its too much all at once. Anyway, I cannot remember a recent year so loaded with heavy hitters releasing new material.

I care about almost none of these.
Only mildly surprised to see LCD Soundsystem on there, it's hard to take most groups seriously when they retire/disband/break up anymore.

Interested in The XX. Shouldn't be long now 'til release.
Also nice to see Lorde coming out with something - I wondered what had happened to her. Not enough to google it though.
NiN - I'll give it a close look, but probably not worth owning. The Downward Spiral set my expectations too high.

Forgot this board is mostly millennials, so that strikes off Springsteen, ATDI, Beck, Gorillaz, Ride (first record in 20 years), and NiN.

Even without those... so many great records to look forward to. I am particularly excited about:
Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, The National, Spoon, Vampire Weekend and War on Drugs, though any of those I mentioned could be amazing.

I heard buzz about these ones and just didn't care for any of them upon listening.
Never liked The Mars Volta or ATDI, Springsteen, or Gorillaz. NIN hasn't really captivated me with any post-2000 release, and I honestly haven't listened to Beck since Odelay--that's one of those things I've meant to get around to, but just haven't.

I'm a millennial and the only band I really care about on that list is Beck. I like Gorillaz as well, but I usually don't buy their albums

Tool might actually drop a record this year too.

I'm aware we've been saying that for over a decade now, but this time it feels like it's actually going to happen.

I think Hozier is due for a new album. I thought his debut album was outstanding from start to finish but a lot of times the follow-up is disappointing.

All the years for great music took place over 15 years ago.

lmfao...so wrong, so fucking wrong it hurts, i mean if you don't activly go looking for music then this might be true as nothing worth of value is broadcast on 99% of terrestrial radio in North America these days...
