2017 Mazda3 incentives ending, I'll be out of town, buy now or wait?

$2k incentive ending Oct 1. I'll be out of town Sep 29. Anybody know how frequent incentives show up? Or maybe if there will be a similar deal in the coming months?

Also, it's been so long since I bought a car at the dealer. Any general advice on negotiating a good deal?

its towards the end of the year. if anything the incentives on 2017 models should be going up. (until the 2017s are gone anyhow.)

How many months are we talking about here? The 2019 MY will be all new so 2018 MY should have huge incentives this time next year.
