Try and find a turnkey car that does sub 10 sec 1/4 miles. With factory warranty and well under $100k. Makes a COPO Camaro look like a bad choice. The ford corbra jet was faster and priced around $100k but you had to be quick to get one. Neither the COPO camaro nor the cobra jet were street legal.

I'm no expert but it looks like a better effort from Dodge at NHRA stock class racing than the weak sauce Drag Pak.

If you give a rats ass about that of course. I don't.

Wonder what the markup will be on these. Probably put them into AMG Mercedes territory.

If it's like the Hellcat in my area, it'll be $100k+. The local dealership has TWO Hellcats at around $90k with their $30k dealer markup!!

A COPO Camaro is in a completely different class than this car. I

This one so over weight to begin with that you need to throw 840rwhp at it with drag radials, skinnies, race fuel and other mods at it to run a 9.65 on a highly prepped track. Not saying that it's not a major accomplishment for a stock car, but it's neither a drag car or a street car, but some compromise in between. Also, unless Dodge sends a crew to the track with you, a warranty is more of a pain than an advantage. I couldn't imagine having to take a car to dealership every time something breaks at the track and wait for the claim to be approved and repairs to happen.

Uhm yeah people shopping for a Dodge Demon are going to cross shop it with an AMG.

For not giving a rat's ass you decided to post not once but twice about Mercedes in a dodge thread. We get it already. You are really in love with mercedes and take every opportunity to remind us. Yep, Mercedes is the awesomest. You win.

I view it as a niche vehicle that doesn't require a hauler to participate in sanctioned events. The con you mention becomes a pro.

At over $100k with markup it really puts it out of reach of most people. At that price you're into the territory where only people who could afford an AMG or BMW M or other luxury performance cars could potentially buy one.

I doubt people will be cross shopping the two but the buyers will be the same. People with a lot of money who just want another go fast toy.

BTW-I just posted a third time. It's the only active freaking thread in here...

I'd love to see owners trying for that 9.65 second quarter mile. From my experience watching Hellcat owners, they'll just be sitting there spinning when the light turns green.

I don't know about you, but if it comes stock with drag radials and skinnies, I'm not driving that to the track. Still need to haul it somehow.

Meh, I've seen some real death trap t buckets and rat rods on the streets. How is this dodge any worse than riding around on your average Harley?

I think Dodge included a trans-lock to permit 500 ft-lbs at launch but normally your going to use the line-lock to do burn some rubber to get those tires sticky. Since this is a one-year build limited to 3,000 cars many will look to try and snag one and garage it for re-sale when this type of vehicle is not allowed to be sold by a major manufacturer. Shi*, go to an auction and see what a mint all-original Boss 429 or '71 454 Chevelle are fetching, it's nuts!.
