You may have noticed that our real-time forecast has moved toward Republicans in the House. It’s being too aggressive, in my opinion. The model sees that a bunch of “likely Republican” districts (particularly in Florida) are now 100 percent likely to go red. But there hasn’t been the chance for Democrats to clinch many equivalent likely Democratic districts.

When I turned on ABC News streaming on Youtube they had the Dems listed at something like 9:1 favorites to win the House. Watched a few cooking videos, came back to ABC, now they're saying the Dems are 9:5 favorites.

According to Nate Silver, it sounds like 538 is tweaking the parameters of their algorithm basically in real time right now because they have low confidence in the swing towards Republicans.

In my mind, this just adds really large error bars to the whole thing. Hard to tell if they discovered a flaw in the algorithm, or there is confirmation bias at play, or some mix of the two.

From what I was reading it overreacted when pretty much guaranteed red districts were called red. But again it's all guesses anyways.

Don't get your hopes up. Hillary was up pretty solidly with half the vote counted in 2016. Cruz is going to win this by at least 6 points IMO
