That means Collins is the only Republican US Congressperson left in New England, and she is going to get clobbered for the Kavanaugh vote when she comes up for reelection.

This, very much so.

Bye bye Susan. You've failed women, the court, and confirmed my long felt suspicion you are definitely no Olympia Snowe. Your naivete and lack of spine will be the hallmarks of your career.

I don't usually give money to campaigns but I gave money to get her voted out. Good riddance.

Update: Lawyers representing Gillum and Nelson objected to votes of non-citizens being excluded. The Nelson campaign is now distancing itself from the objections.

I wonder why bullshitboy never came back to defend this "update"?

We'll take it. To borrow an expression from Bernie, any Democrat is 100X better than any Republican. Even Joe Manchin.

I'm looking forward to a raft of honest, decent & popular bills sent to the Senate for McConnell to choke on.

I'd be surprised if he let them to the floor for a vote.

As frustrating as Manchin can be, you still prefer him to an R, even if he voted R 90% of the time, as long as he caucuses with the Ds and gives them the majority leader status and ability to set the legislative agenda and committee chairs.

This fact escaped the dotard Trump when he decided to flush a number of Senate seats down the toilet (eg NV and AZ.)

Given these are 6 yr terms, Trump has 0.0% chance to ever win them back.

Good... of course, waiting for one of our resident Trump fans to tell us how the largest Democratic House gain in decades means nothing.

Most seats picked up by the Dems in the House since 1974. 44 years. Cheeto almost toppled Nixon in how many Dems took back seats during an election year.

Nixon didn't have the advantage of decades of relentless right wing mind rot in his favor.

Do you think he can ever equal Barack Obutthole in terms of losing power for their party?

Republican groundswell in state legislatures.
In 2009, President Obama’s party controlled both chambers of 27 state legislatures. Eight years later, Democrats control both chambers in only 13 states. Among the states that slipped from Democratic control are Wisconsin, North Carolina, Iowa and West Virginia; states key to the victory of President-elect Donald Trump last November. According to a report from the National Conference of State Legislatures, the Democratic Party has lost a net total of 13 Governorships and 816 state legislative seats since President Obama entered office, the most of any president since Dwight Eisenhower.

Do you think you can stop obsessing over Obama in a childish way? You're in your 60s (if I recall correctly), but you act like a toddler who shits his diapers every time he hears the word "Obama."

Obama is out of office. Trump is in. And he's costing your beloved party everything.

once again, conveniently provides more and more evidence of republican gerrymandering, effectively stealing elections because they know they can't win on the issues.

Since America has spoken this last election do you think the GOP should tack left to try and regain some ground?

Maybe lighten up on abortion and health care?

Can't. After decades of ceaseless effort, they've radicalized & crazified their base so much that they lost control of it. Their right wing billionaire donors won't go along with it either.

Nope, when republicans win it means Democrats need to come to the center. When Democrats win it also means Democrats must come to the center.

You mean the way the Democrats have gerrymandered California? Including in this most recent election the gerrymandering of Orange County?
