INSANE game, Smith thought they were up so he didn't take a shot at the end of the game now they're going to lose. how shitty for James to score 50 fucking points only to lose

remind me again why we are paying JR like 13 mill

Bron fought his ass off or something to get him on the team. I'm confused why, when he's good he's pretty good. But when he sucks it's like he shouldn't be playing. And he seems to suck more than not. Tonight he took it to a whole new what and the holy fuck level. The last 2 minutes of the game the refs did their best to sabotage the game for the Cavs. Smith basically finished the job for them. Now with how he was playing the rest of the game I don't have a whole lot of faith he could have made that shot if he had tried. But at least there would have been a possibility.

If James had scored 60 they still would have lost. The fact the rest of the team aside from Love played like ass and the game was razor close until OT shows how fucking godlike Lebron is.

"JR Smith looked into the future and viewed 14 million possible outcomes of this series. Out of all of them he only saw one winning scenario. As he dribbled the clock he turned to LeBron and said “I’m sorry LeBron, it’s the only way.”

Smith's story is that he knew they were down, but he thought they were going to call timeout

why he himself didn't call timeout isn't clear

Well he was still wrong then because they weren't down, they were tied.

Things looked really easy on offense for the Warriors compared to the Houston series. They just have to slow Lebron a little and they should handle most of these games comfortably. On the other hand if Cleveland can rough up Curry a little more they may be able to take some games.

Lebron is a monster. Iggy might not want to come back knowing he will be guarding that...

Interestingly there is no real narrative to these finals.

Almost all modern media has already declared Lebron the greatest player ever and the Warriors the greatest team ever.

Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the games.

My god. What an ending. So many great memes have come out now of LeBron looking dumbfounded at JR.

It's amazing that we are all wasting this much time analyzing JR Smith being a knucklehead, when he's built a successful NBA career despite being a knucklehead. Sure, it came at the worst possible time and cost his team its slim chance at competing for a title.

Besides that, the reffing seemed to tilt against the Cavs slightly throughout the game (including the controversial "restricted area" review), George Hill clearly choked on the FT, and the Cavs quit as soon as regulation ended.

It's cause its in the finals with LeBron having one of the greatest games ever when they were projected to be blown out in 4 games.

JR shouldn't have even been in position for this... The officials destroyed the cavs momentum with the clean strip foul they called on lebron the play before... So why wasn't that reviewed NBA? The very next offensive possession for the warriors they call for a review under the guise of checking to see if lebron was in the restricted area.... He was nowhere near the restricted area, as far as the call was concerned there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call on the floor. It was a 50/50 judgement call. So that is a 4 point swing right there during the final minutes gifted by the officials that ended up in a tie game at the end of regulation.

This is after the fiasco in Houston where they took away a 4 point play from harden, allowed that clear out from bell for a curry wide open three, allowed the warriors to obliterate eric gordon at the rim with no call... Yes, the rockets shot themselves in the foot with the missed threes, but this is two games in a row during the playoffs where the refs have been blatantly one sided with their officiating.

I think the justification for calling Lebron for that foul on Durant was that he was moving to his left, i.e. a block. It had nothing to do with the restricted area, which he was beyond.

Funny thing is I wasn't aware it was 107 to 107, I failed to realize myself. Announcer said, "4.7 seconds is plenty of time." When I observed the missed 2nd free throw and the Cavs got the rebound, I thought the Warriors had lost. Maybe I was taking my cue from J.R.'s body language. Instead I was amazed when they announced "overtime." I was as surprised as J.R. It's more embarrassing for him, though.

Draymond Green is a repeat offender. You are right he would have been suspended because he has a history of getting thrown out games. I'm surprised his hit to the face of LeBron wasn't upgraded to a flagrant 1.

He didn't do it intentionally, it was an accident. That's why it wasn't deemed flagrant.
