I need to learn to bet against you.

Can you share your wisdom on how the finals will play out?
He loves Bron so he’ll give the Cavs a way better shot than they deserve. Heck, he might even have a crazy prediction like Cavs in 7.

27 CONSECUTIVE missed threes

that's just . . . impressive?

normally I think there's no way I could compete with a professional athlete, but, put me in coach

I'll miss 27 threes for half of what you're paying that jerk!

Rockets Vs Celtics is looking like an almost sure thing.
Whoops.

Game 7 West in a nutshell: Huge Warriors 3rd quarter propels them into the NBA Finals. Rockets tightened up, Warriors gelled.

Frankly this is not the Warriors team from the past few years. They look lethargic about half of every game and the ball doesn't zip around quite like it used to. They think they can play at about 75% effort and beat teams. Unfortunately with Paul out they just did. Basically "show up for the second half" was good enough in this series.

The "Lebron has no help" trope is getting old for me too...The Cavs have the highest paid team in the NBA. They have a lot of good players who when used correctly put up good numbers on other teams. This is why they can shut down teams on defense at times like they did to the Celtics. If you've watched their offense this postseason about 60-70% of the action is Lebron shots, or drive and kicks. They run a few sets for Korver a game, Love gets a couple of touches, and they ran some pick and roll with George Hill last game. But it's such a small amount, and sometimes if their first shot misses they give up on that player entirely. This is why I root against Lebron. He is an incredible scorer, defender, passer, and basketball player. But I'm watching him actively make decent teammates terrible this postseason by dominating every offensive possession.

Go Warriors. Get Curry another ring. He worked his tail off last series on defense and still put up decent offensive numbers. But next year I think I'll be rooting for the Celtics to take things. They were tons of fun to watch this year.

I know it's only the 1st and I know they're only up by 7 and I know they were way up and still got slaughtered the last game. But if they keep up this exact play Rocket's will win. I don't think Harden will let what happened last game happen again, he's in Lebron mode so far. And it doesn't hurt Curry's 1-6

*EDIT*
up by 11
Curry's now 1-7

*EDIT #2*
up by 15 and Klay has 3 fouls already.
Another gem of a post by QueBert a bit too early lol.

To me the Warriors are so fucking boring to watch. They have some of the greatest shooters to ever play the game, but shooting 35' circus shots from Curry or Thompson pulling up for 3 pointers on fast breaks just doesn't appeal to me that much. I actually find Draymond Green probably the most fun player to watch on the Warriors. KD is fun too.

Maybe it's just revisionist history and romanticism of my childhood, but these last couple years of conference playoffs and same team (Cavs/Warriors) finals just doesn't have the same energy and appeal as the old days of Bulls vs Knicks in eastern conference finals and runs that the Bulls, Lakers, Jazz and Celtics had in the 80's and 90's.

Maybe it's how free agency and the shifting of stars from team to team has changed. Maybe it's just me getting older and the games just not being as special to watch. I don't know. But it just doesn't have the magic or appeal that conference finals and NBA finals of 25+ years ago did.

I think it's because the games have been absolute garbage. Basically every match has been one team playing well while the other plays poorly or both teams playing terribly. I would have loved to see a GSW-Houston match where both teams were shooting well, but we didn't get that. We got lopsided games and GSW closing things by playing well in only the 3rd quarter.

The media also covers these games wrong or perhaps simply gives them too much coverage. There's little positive spin anymore. It's all about who choked or who is to blame for losses. Even when a team wins, it won't be a celebrated thing. It will simply be "Where does Lebron go next?" Instead of hyping great match-ups between epic teams before the finals we're going to hear a lot about this "ridiculously stacked" Warriors team and a lot about how Lebron "has no help". That's just not something that's compelling to a lot of people.

Having a 73 win team add the second best player in the league to their team made it boring.

smart move by Durant.
his old team kept losing to golden state in the playoffs.
by jumping ship to GS, he got the ring and now a possible repeat.

hm.. didn't know this:
After the NBA Finals, Durant declined his $27.7 million player option for the 2017–18 season and became an unrestricted free agent with the intention of re-signing with the Warriors for less money , helping the franchise create enough salary cap space to keep their core roster intact.

it's all about the Ring.

I feel like the Cavs are hungrier this year and LeBron has been playing at a superhuman level these entire playoffs. If his team can show up and collectively work together, I can see the Warriors winning in 5

I could see Lebron taking this. The Cavs already know that Curry and Klay can be shut down by tackling them every possession. Kevin Durant hasn't been playing very well except in spurts. Iggy is hurt. The bench lacks depth. Draymond can't shoot a three to save his life.

But the real reason I see it as a possibility has been the Lebron > Jordan media blitz that has taken place these playoffs. I had no idea that the Cavaliers with the leagues highest salary had only one player. I had no idea that going to the finals is more impressive than winning the finals. ESPN is trying to make me believe these things. They are also trying to make me believe that the Warriors are unbeatable.

Seems suspiciously like a set-up to me.

are Andre Iguodala and Kevin Love slated to return for this series? If so, when?

Warriors in 6. Lebron will put up godlike numbers and his teammates will show up for at least 2 games which will allow them to squeak out a couple.

What team will Lebron run to next year?

Man the Cavs have some terrible salaries - outside of James vs Curry, the Warriors have massively superior players at similar costs.

I think the Warriors show up and sweep in 4 because they want to finally put a stamp on the year.

James $33,285,709
Kevin Love $22,642,350
George Hill $20,000,000
Tristan Thompson $16,400,000
J.R. Smith $13,760,000
Jordan Clarkson $11,562,500

Stephen Curry $34,682,550
Kevin Durant $25,000,000
Klay Thompson $17,826,150
Draymond Green $16,400,000
Andre Iguodala $14,814,815
Shaun Livingston $7,692,308

Worst every in NBA playoffs. ESPN claimed that the Rockets had a 1 in 100,000 chance of going 0-27 based off their 3 percentage this year. Yet they did it. They go say, 5-27 in that stretch, they win. Which is still below their average. Or at least it comes down to the wire.

These finals will be the same thing. Cavs doing a 1/3 or 1/5 high screen to try and get a matchup they want with Lebron. He'll dribble around till a few seconds left and pop a shot off, or drive. Maybe even pass sometimes. Warriros will shoot a zillion 3's, make a good amount. But do just dumb enough things to keep it close, till the 3rd where they will pull away. Maybe a dick kick in there for good measure. Warriors win 4-1, maybe 4-2.

I lose interest when its the same team or teams every year. I am in the small percentage of people who watch and keep up with women's college ball. Uconn has ruined it for me though. Tired of Pats being in the SB too. I don't blame the teams, but for me personally I just lose interest. I'll keep up with the score, and pull for the Cavs. But I won't be watching the game. Its predictable, boring, repetitive, etc.

Call me a LBJ hater, but I am just sick of seeing him in the play offs. Maybe that's a testament to how good he is, (then again, he is in the East), but I'm just tired of seeing his mug in the finals.

Rootin' for GSW to win again.

you're sick of him? imagine how the rest of the East feels

that's what makes it so hilarious to me. All those teams, just knowing that no matter how much they struggle, how much they accomplish, they have zero chance of even making it to the finals

the way one man has been able to lock down an entire conference for nearly a decade is just fantastic
