Methinks he’s on probation behind the scenes and suffering from prison sex, figuratively speaking. Wentz doesn’t help beating the Cowboys one bit. God no, Heinicke is not starting caliber. He is a great backup but that is his ceiling. He simply does not have an NFL starting caliber arm.

I am 100% positive though that Heinicke will be playing next year though since Wentz isn't exactly known for his durability.

Wentz however is damaged goods mentally AND physically .... I would have spent that 1st round pick/cap-space elsewhere since realistically Washington isn't ready to win.

Yeah, but Wentz doesn’t play smart and forces things, so I would expect Diggs to get his picks. In that lowlight reel of Wentz’s last year as an Eagle, that throw from Wentz to Diggs would’ve been a beautiful TD if they were on the same team.

If Wentz plays 70% or more of the snaps, the third rounder the Commanders gave will become a 2nd rounder.

If Wentz sucks and plays 70% or more of the snaps...then this move is basically just a bailout/charity for Indy.

Local sports radio was talking to indy/philly media all morning.

The one guy in indy said that Wentz was pretty much def going to be released next week.

However they made very good points about the Commanders making a play on him before that.

Washington is NOT a destination that anyone really wants to go to right now. If Wentz ended up a FA, he would ultimately have the final say in where he wanted to go. And again, Washington is NOT a place that QBs really want to go, and there are A LOT of teams that need a QB right now, so chances are, Washington would not have gotten him on the FA market.

It's also been confirmed that there were multiple other teams interested in Wentz. So ultimately, Washington gave Indy the best deal and Indy controlled where he went.
