One thing I'm thinking about this morning...Democrats need to pivot the abortion issue to a states' rights issue. I'm seeing Dems picking up a few governorships but in my home state, the state supreme court flipped to red. Dems should absolutely be messaging the fuck out of SCOTUS being locked up in Federalist Society hands and the number of legal issues that will be pushed back to states to decide.

Want a constitutional amendment guaranteeing a woman's choice? Vote blue locally. Want to ensure your right to marry whomever you choose? Blue governors. Blue AGs. Blue state courts. It's about defending basic freedoms and ensuring a Red SCOTUS/Red appellate courts and split Congress doesn't fuck you over in your state.

States' rights needs to become the rallying cry of Democrats once more. It isn't about race or guns this time. Now--how to balance that while maintaining the EPA and championing climate protection is another story. Can't be talking about shutting down coal plants everywhere.

I'll be interested how abortion issue helped Dems. I heard in every state that had a referendum vote it was 4-0 with one too early to call to preserve rights

100% helped Dems, ESPECIALLY with the younger vote. I would wager abortion was the #1 issue for younger voters that showed up in this election, with other issues behind that.

Is the House more bipartisan than the Senate? IOW, is a slim R majority in the House less of an issue than if it were in the Senate?
In recent years, the House is far more hyper-partisan than the Senate. But the R majority in House is still less of an issue, as only the Senate can block appointments / judges.

I'd like to see some focus grouping of the youths to get to the bottom of it but this issue was probably up there. Also that the Republican candidates were mostly insane and offered them nothing positive for any of their futures. Just my guesses.

YES and its RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Many of their friends and the up and comers can't even vote yet but will be in the next cycle or the ones after that.

Abortion, climate change, student loan forgiveness and child tax credit directly effects them not extending the Trump Tax Cuts.

Meanwhile the Red Wave Makers are aging out as they're not renewable unless they can be composted but compost can't vote!

It's looking like it will be the difference between 50 and 51. So no difference, especially without the House.
Dang, was hoping for 52 and Manchin and Sinema losing their outsized influence.

There is no such thing, dumbass.

I mean, GOP leadership only ever spends vastly more than Democrats, predictably, every single fucking time they have power. These are indisputable facts, and yet you never complain then. So kindly fuck off with this tired, disingenuous nonsense.

The right complains about "tax and spend" Democrats, while ignoring the "borrow and spend like drunken sailors" Republicans who would rather put everything on a "credit card" for future generations to pay.

Laura Kelly will hold on to the governorship in Kansas. Been a pretty good election for Ds running for governors seats so far.

24 cycle is going to be rough because of the seats that are coming up. Ds need everything they can get now.

Wasn't this the cycle that Trump bragged about winning in the senate while he lost the house?

I mean 2018 and 2024 cycle should be identical.

Based on how they reacted to Jan 6 and stolen White House docs they are cool with crime as long as the perps look like them
