the Virginia state Senate has been held by Democrats which means Youngkin can't push through MAGA extremist policies.

Turn out is pathetic. So far, Dems sweep mayor and city council but this was a given.

Pay raise for city council members is too close to call. The current pay is $24k/year for what is a full time job. The low pay means only people of means can afford to be on the council.

The school overrides are all winning by the widest margins seen in decades. This is a stupid way of funding schools but it's the best option until Arizonans stop sending morons to the Legislature. The Legislature sets school tax rates statewide. The Legislature is dominated by low-tax, anti-education assholes who set funding too low. Then each district holds override elections to bump their rates. So the same voters who sent the morons to the Legislature vote to give their kids' schools more funding while screwing everyone else's kids.

The incorporation proposal I mentioned earlier in the thread seems to be going down in flames by a margin of 20%.

Ugh I knew Proposition 3 that would prohibit a wealth tax in the Texas state constitution would pass. It's 70-30, about where I expected it to be.

One up:

Exonerated “Central Park Five” member Yusef Salaam won a seat Tuesday on the New York City Council, completing a stunning reversal of fortune decades after he was wrongly imprisoned in an infamous rape case.

Salaam, a Democrat, will represent a central Harlem district on the City Council, having run unopposed for the seat in one of many local elections held across New York state Tuesday. He won his primary election in a landslide.

One down:

Mother of Uvalde victim loses mayoral election

ABC|22 minutes ago
Uvalde, Texas -- Kimberly Mata-Rubio, the mother of Uvalde victim Alexandria "Lexi" Rubio, lost a special election to become mayor in Uvalde, Texas.

We voted against that one for all the good I knew it would do.

Also voted against the following: enshrining the rights of farmers against local regulations (to easy to abuse), improving our power infrastructure (mostly a handout to fossil fuels), biomedical property tax reduction (business should pay taxes), getting rid of the Galveston county treasurer (makes it easier to abuse county funds), and against raising the mandatory retirement age to 79 or whatever for judges.

"non-partisan" school board election, with every available seat having an anti-woke crusader running, targeting to take over a majority for the insane.
(And a number of other local government positions that appear to have sane candidates competing.)
Looks like good news here, my local school board region is apparently a bit less crazy than I thought, MAGA candidates endorsed by the Republican party look to be going 0 for 4 on preliminary final results. Margin modestly larger than Biden margin at last election (~4-5 points larger margin than Biden's ~8 points)

However, only 25% of eligible voters cast ballots, low turnout like usual in off year election even with mail-in and early in-person options widely available.

And in one precinct, voters are complaining loudly that they were denied ballots for the Tucson mayoral race. The precinct is not in the city.

No, and you seriously need to retake high school civics.
Trump EO. USSC uphold EO. National Abortion ban. When democrat becomes president (as if we ever have elections again) the USSC says he can't undo the EO for reasons.

I read through those and I am now truly convinced that Texans really are dumber than Okies. Okies soundly rejected the Farmers right question. Also I love how texans pass every single tax cut and exemption, but then also pass every single new funding program.

I would love to see people who wanted to prohibit a wealth tax interviewed. How was this sold to people? I wager it was misleading.
