Why would I be offended that you're half right at best? Everyone knows the U.S. has a pro-Israel policy. That in and of itself isn't necessarily a problem, if we're fair and consistent with international law. The problem is that we don't hold Israel accountable when they make bad decisions. Sometimes really bad decisions. Over a very long period of time.Good points but there is problems. Yes, I am aware that Obama and Netanyahu had problems but that didn't stop Obama for believing a lot of Israeli intelligence in handling Middle Eastern "terrorism." Obama was quite aggressive in his Middle East policies, bombing quite often. Some say that Israel had a role in this, as it usually does in the US foreign policy in the Middle East.
Joe Biden might have compassion for Palestinians but his administration is full of pro-Israel people, from spokesman all the way to Antony Blinkon. When you say that the Biden administration can do better, that is the mildest statement I have heard here in a while. They are sending Israel planeloads full of weapons that target civilians and civilian areas! Hamas is hiding in tunnels. Bombing universities, hospitals, roads, shelters etc by using American made bombs, which are coming in the planeload.
We know the Republicans are 99.99% pro-Israel and love to say how much they love Israel. This disgusting guy Mike Pompeo was just dancing with the IDF soldiers recently, many of whom should be in jail for war crimes. Then we have Andy Ogles saying we should kill them all in regards to Palestinians. But then again, you have Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi coming out with ridiculous claims of sexual atrocities which did not happen - all to justify Israel's relentless campaign to target civilians. Once again, not a significant different between the parties.
Things are so bad that Rashida Tlaib is censured for making just a very mild statement. And Ilhan Omar is always vilified. Once again, I don't see democrats coming to their rescue for the most part.
Trump's Middle East policy was extremely one sided but he was surrounded by pro-Israel people too, such as his son-in-law, John Bolton and Mike Pompeo. He gave everything Israel asked for, including cancelling the Iran nuclear deal. Terrible move.
So, maybe you are offended because I mentioned Biden in a negative way but realize that America's pro-Israel policy is well known to the whole world. No matter the president.
Nevertheless, stating that U.S. policy vis a vis Israel doesn't change regardless of president is patently false. To make it clearer to you, if Bibi is pissed off at POTUS, then we're at least trying to get more things right. I'd prefer that Bibi is pissed off at Joe Biden if it means we can slow roll our foreign aid to him. He should be groveling at our feet for the aid, not the other way around. Fuck his feelings and garbage post-war "plan."
Even you just admitted that Trump was as soft on Israel as POTUS could possibly be. Although we can't know precisely what Trump would have done, I'd bet he wouldn't give a flying fuck about humanitarian aid going into Gaza and he would have tacitly approved of a full-on assault of Rafah already.
Hilary and Nancy don't work for the Biden administration so your trying to paint everyone as the same doesn't fly.
If you're arguing that America's foreign policy towards Israel should change dramatically, that just isn't very realistic for internal and external reasons.
