21" NEC Monitor for $199 at Tiger Direct...Hot?

I know it's Tiger Direct, but, they have this mediocre monitor for $199 -->NEC

They also have this one refurbished for the same price, a little better quality, but, refurbished --> KDS

Kinda hot?

What do you think?

I would say the KDS is the best deal even though it is refurbished. I bought a KDS 19" monitor about 2 years ago. Last month it started having some problems with display. I called them up and described the problem... they shipped me a new monitor. This was over 2 years into a 3 year warranty and they shipped me a monitor straight out. Arrived 3 days later. My experience has been all positive with them.

No kidding. Stop with the fricking inclusions of stuff from TD. :| Just look @ their resellerratings and also the sludge posted @ the better business bureau website ( www.bbb.org) TD needs a smackdown.

Shipping is $75. Which kills the deal.

My buddy paid $125 shipping to Pittsburgh for the NEC and didn't see anything wrong with that.... I couldn't justify the shipping, let alone the loss of desk space....

Ordered my Dlink 9000AP from TigerDirect on Friday, received it today. That's like order number 17 from TigerDirect and never a problem still.

Most people who whine about TD never done any business with them, they onle "heard" it elsewhere. Why should I trust resellerratings? It's not like I know people who post there and can vouch for their honesty. I have over a dozen orders with TD and never had a problem.

Just to make it clear to people who don't see:
They're saying damn the Better Business Bureau official report, at least half (and maybe even two thirds) of all orders placed at TigerDirect were perfect transactions.

I once went on a Mississippi riverboat, put a fiver on "red" -- and won (!)

Whatever....I ordered a 17in. flat-panel 3 days ago and it just arrived in perfect condition.
I hooked it up and , guess what?
It's F-ing beautiful.

I ordered from tigerdirect and my video card came just fine. Maybe i just got lucky, but I take all resellerratings with a grain of salt. For god's sake Dell had a rating of around 3 last time I checked. A lot of the people who complain on reselleratings seem to be complaining about petty things, like their product came two days too late. What I think the point of the ratings is, is to warn people away from companies like EMS and Techsavings who wont send you anything. And yes I know Tigerdirect may have given out credit card numbers. It's ridiculous to say that Dell and Gateway are somehow as bad as EMS.

2. Reseller ratings can be biased. That seems to be a matter of opinion, but hey if you feel that way, so be it, I won't try and change your mind. However, if you will scoll up a bit, you will notice that the BBB has unresolved complaints about tigerdirect, this isn't reseller rating or bizrate, or anandtech...this is an agency set-up specifically to deal with businesses who try to screw their customers. The fact that they have complaints means that they (the BBB) contacted tiger direct about claims filed with them and did NOT recieve a satisfactory explanation OR resolution to the problem. That tells you all you need to know.

No one's saying you can't shop there if you want. Just buyer beware....

After you bought from TigerDirect, please check your credit card bill CAREfully EVERY month. Many were charged $60 for long distant phone service, which non-authorized. Last post I found was Dec 4th, majority happend before Sep.

I have not had problem with TD, although, better be cautious.

I didn't mean that reselleratings were wrong about Tigerdirect, so much as they are screwed up about alot of dealers. When I ordered

Tigerdirect I checked the reselleratings afterward and damn near pissed myself, cause I thought I just burned my money. I didnt mean

to defend TD, I just don't like aspects of the reselleratings.
