to change my processor it involves removeing all the cards and the motherboard itself. then being very carefull i have to bend the water lines. once it outside the case then i have to unbolt the block and carefully pry it off . bolt holes are a bit to tight for these studs

Shimmishim

good luck with your new processor.........avg oc i am seeing on these t breds is 2350mhz with 1.85 volts. i have seen a few overclock alot higher then this but its a random chance

Jen, I forgot about the fact that you've got all those hoses in there and a waterblock that's bolted down. That IS a major PITA, that for sure.

You've already crossed over to the other side. Uprgade-itis already has it's claws of doom around your brain...and wallet.

I say the same thing every time: "I'm not buying another damn thing until next year!!!!" Two days later.....it's a disease, dude! :Q

After calling around and reading I gave up on getting the 1700+ processor. Apparently finding a AIUHB 1700+ is almost impossible now. I ended up going back to the local shop where i got my AYHJA Tbird and picked out a 2100+ Tbred.

The chip:

AXDA2100DUT3C
AIUHB 0303

had to clear cmos... wouldn't boot windows...

is running 39C idle right now seems a lil high for default voltage!!!

argh....

i got a cmos checksum error...

i'm getting all sorts of problems with this baby...

im running default speed 13 x 133 = 1733 @ 1.6V

idle: 43!!!!

that's ridiculous...

i think i'm going back to my 1700+ ...

this thing keeps restarting my computer OVER AND OVER again and again the more i o/c it

try reapplying the heatsink grease as it sounds like it has to much on it

i agree idle tempuratures are high for that speed and voltage

On a positive note, this 1700+ now only runs at 44C at full load

argh, I'll mess with this 2100+ sometime later this weekend

for now, i'm just gonna let it be... but yeah...

it loaded at 2.2 ghz... and i tried prime95-ing it but it froze...

so i upped th voltage... and windows was loading... i have win2kpro... it was setting up the network stuff and the screen never moved on...

so i restarted the computer... after that, it just started randomly rebooting even when i was in the bios... cleared cmos... restarted again... it boots at default voltage @ 1733.... but if i up it to anything else, it'll just restart...

hmm.... and the temps are REALLY HIGH....

anyone think the brown has to do anything with it?

argh argh argh....

Shimmishim, hows your +5 rail?, maybe your PSU is weak? I see you have an Antec true-power, hmmm. Some CPU's will dance and some won't

I refuse to believe it's my PSU... this is my 3rd one...

Wow, I don't know if it is the stepping, the luck of the draw or a combination. After repeatedly running into an OC wall with my 0302 TbredB 2100+ (best was 12x180, +/- FSB, +/- multiplier, +/- vcore volts, ...), I broke down and decided to stick in the 0249 2100+. It has posted and booted Windows with everything I have tried so far. Right now, as I type, my system specs are

AXDA2100DUT3C (brownie)
AIUB0249MPMW
13x185 = 2405
vcore = 1.8v
memory 6-3-3-2
vdimm = 2.77v

After 30 minutes running everything possible to try and crash:
cpu - 36 C
sys - 33 C
note: mobo out of case right now. Only two fans of use are the YS-Tech at full blast and the Iceberq on the NB.

I will see if I can squeeze in a couple of extra MHz and then run prime95 overnight as something that I suspect is stable. The bottom line is that, yeah, there is some variability in these chips (duh). This sucker feels fast - giggle. Although I am very happy that I had the chance to experiment, my "second" CPU investment has lost some value in a relative sense.

tell me about it!

this is my 4th!!! 2 1700+ and 2 2100+

the second 1700+ is doing 2170 right now
the first 1700+ only did 1950

the first 2100+ did 2125
the second 2100+ .... i can boot 2200

but we'll see how this 2100+ does... i'll play around with it more either thursday or friday...

Good luck Shimmishim!

2470 = 13x190 right now (37C/33C). This little 2100+ reminds me of my real cowdog, a little Australian cattle dog (aka blue heeler). No matter what I ask of her, she's up to the task. Sometimes she just sits there and looks at me wanting me to give her another job... I don't know if I want to push this further. I have yet to not post or boot. No lockups, no probs of any kind, yet.

So to get a good feel for stability, do I run prime95 all night and then run memtest86 (x times?). What else should I try? And at what point do I gain confidence that I'm running stable?

And where/how do I setup one of those cool little pages with system specs? Those are cool - much better than just putting that stuff in a signature.
