Has anyone purchased a Retail AMD XP 2100 + and it came out to be a Revision B? Will AMD every offer something like that for retail. I wish newegg can sell retail verison with confirm revision B, even if they open it I will buy it as long as the warrenty is still on.

Shimmishim, what type of fan are you using?.Make sure its blowing down towards the CPU.You could always slap on a 92mm Vantec Tornado 84.1CFM,but plug your ears and don't plug it in the mobo but on the power supply..LOL.That should drop it a few more C's.

2340 is fine with me from 1733

temps are 47-48 C at full load

i'm using the TT smart fan 2... not loud at all... have it set to 3400 rpm...

if i turn it up... then it'll get louder and a few degrees cooler...

not worth it to me...

Just picked one up for $93 + $5/1yr warranty. Couldn't resist any longer

I've got 8RDA+ on the way as well as 512 Winbond PC3200 CAS2 chips. Don't have a real serious cooling solution atm (Thermalright SK-7, not bad, but only like $30, definitely not their high-end product) but I'm not looking to put any more than 1.7 maybe 1.75v into my TBred.

Going to see if I can hit 200 with this (hopefully) high quality RAM without upping stock voltage too much. Wish me luck!

Ok, I have some early results on my new setup:

GB GA-7vaxp
AIUHB 0303 2100+
512MB Corsair PC3200

The processor is running at 2.262Ghz at the moment. I haven't done much tweaking/stability testing yet other than increase core voltage to 1.7V. I'm still amazed at the temps i'm getting: 91F idle and 105F (33c/41c) during prime95, that's with the case closed as well. I'm using a SK6 with 53CFM mechatronics 80mm fan. It seems that it has more potential left as it will run at this speed at 1.65V. What is a good software temp reading program?

Don't go higher! My 2400+ died at 1.95v after two weeks, keep 1.85v at max.

Already here, loading 2k Pro as we speak. Then comes the overclocking

hey, that's pretty vague.... no way to tell at all unless you give us more info on the stepping and stuff.... also, even with the stepping results vary A LOT!

either way, good luck!

Now that I have a psu that works, I'm back at this 2100+. And that break worked well, as my 2 additional case fans arrived (6 total now). Note: I also have Iceberq active cooling on nb and passive cooling on sb.

12 x 195 1.775v 6-3-3-2 2.77v - Bomber. loaded cpu temp < 40C

12 x 200 1.80v 6-3-3-2 2.77v - Errors out in Prime95 after 15 minutes or so when running with Outlook, Mozilla, and Photoshop. loaded cpu temp < 40C

12 x 200 1.825v 6-3-3-2 2.77v - Currently running Prime95 - was good for 1 hour when I left for the office. Passed Memtest86 (15 times or so). I'll be back home to check on it within an hour. loaded cpu temp approx. 40C. If it hasn't errored out, I will start running everything to try and error or crash.

Does 1.825v seem too high for vcore? 12x195 is rock solid, and I am feeling a little wimpy about the 12x200. Hmm. Plus I don't feel that I need to run the cpu fan at full blast for 12x195. But I like the feel of 12x200. Maybe something at 12 x (195 > FSB > 200) will run stable at 1.8v?

i'd say try something between 195 to 200 first at 1.775V ...

pretty sure you'll hit a wall soon... yeah 12 x 200 = 2.4 very nice but, being a lil under never hurts...

i wouldn't try to pump more than 1.8V into that thing... (though i'm sure it could handle it)....
