A FX5200 should have no problems smoothly running up to 1920x1440 under windows XP, running Vista(or OS X) it might be limited to 1280x1024(to avoid any choppiness) if you have all the accelerated eye candy on.

You won't be able to run anything but the oldest 3D games using an FX5200, but yes it will support that resolution.

...anyways, even my savage pro ddr in my p3 500mhz computer supports 1600x1200 on my 17" crt, so an fx5200 should be able to handle 1680x1050 just fine. besides, that card was packed in with a lot of pre-built comps with big monitors, so i wouldnt worry about it.

my geforce3 handles high resolutions fine.

of course, im not talking about gaming with these cards at 1680x1050. definitely drop the resolution down.

Was just talking bout displaying under 2D, FX5200 and gaming should be regarded as mutually exclusive under any resolution.

Would it run Vista Aero without choppyness? It does require DX9 acceleration, I'm not sure how much though...
