23.1" LCD (possible KDS RAD-23 rebadge) for 1988.36 @ Sam's Club Online (Possibly Cheaper @ Dell Home)

Link (I don't know how to remove a session ID which is this embedded into a link, sorry)

Specs Link

Brightness and Contrast Ratio:

Brightness: 250 cd/m2 (nit)
Contrast Ratio: 500:1

Response Time:

10 ms Rise
15ms Fall

What potentially makes this interesting is the free shipping and the fact that the cheapest I could find it on pricewatch was 100 dollars more. The other thing is that not many resellers sell 23.1" LCD monitors - the exception at the moment being KDS' RAD-23, which retails on Sam's website for nearly 1500 dollars more, and 600 dollars more on Pricegrabber. This COULD possibly be a rebadge in a different case.

Conversely, Dell has the same monitor for 1999.99 - add one of their many coupon promos, free shipping & eBates, and it's much cheaper than Sam's without the membership.

I also found this searching for the monitor @ Dell - Relatively cheap three-year replacement plans for non-Dell-branded LCDs & CRTs

Sceptre used to make all the dell notebook screens and is located next door to Viewsonic in the city of industry. I would consider them the same level as KDS if not higher. I doubt it's a rebadge of KDS though.

I agree the apply cinema display 23" is a better choice. THe look alone seals the deal plus it has a 1900x1420 resolution. This display used to cost 3499 just two weeks ago and last week apple just dropped the price to 1999. incredible drop.

If I did not have the 22inch cinema display and a 2000fp then I would be all over the 23 HD cinema display. The apple monitors works with PCs with a $100 DVI to ADC adapter.

Yah I saw the 22 inch for $1499.99 and 23 inch for 1999.99 at CompUSA last weekend.

Yes, they do certainly work with a converter like the Dr. Bott DVIator, but the settings are not adjustable. You're stuck with the native resolution and can't tweak any settings. Yay for proprietary devices.

i don't get it...2000 for a 23 inch lcd or 3000 for a 42 inch plasma? 2000 seems too expensive

I don't get it neither... 2698000 pixels for $2000 but 407040 pixels for $3000? 3000 seems too expansive.

blah the 2000fps are much better monitors (20"), they have the same resolution with less size which results in crisper image (better dot pitch)

The 23" Apple Cinema display is only 250nits brightness and 300:1 contrast ratio. Pretty good numbers, but I'd rather go for something like the Samsung 240T if I was getting a display that large.

what about the sharp 28 incher. of course it doesn't have the pixel res most would want. and at 7k it is a bit steep. wait two years and 17 inch monitors will be under 200. and 25 inchers will be in the 5-7 hundred range. maybe.
