23.12 nVidia WHQL Drivers are out! Released by ASUS not by nVidia directly but they support all cards that 23.11 supported, ie these are reference drivers not Asus specific. MaxReboot has download links with mirrors.

Thx for the heads-up

gave em a try...

D3D (3DMark2001) and OpenGL (MDK2) benchmarks stayed the same, so they were tweakin something more subtle... seem to be stable

The 23.11's were horribly unstable. I went back to the 21.83's waiting for NVidia to fix the problem. I'll wait to see if these drivers do...

I think your experience was probably more the exception than the rule....

nothing but success here with them (see MyRigThingy)

Insidious,

Doomguy is NOT the exception, you are!!! People have been complaining about 23.11s since day one. Most people have gone back to previous versions. Lets hope the 23.12 are indeed stable!

Yeah, I'll say. The 23.11's were very picky. Unreal had some issues with that set. I reverted back to 21.83 and had no probs. I iked the fact that the 23.11 set boosted my 3dmark 2001 scores by around 500pts though. I'll try the new set.

Well, I haven't had any problems with 23.11 at all. I haven't really seen that many posts here, or anywhere else, where people are complaining about them. Maybe I'm just living in a fantasy land . It's probably just those fags that play Unreal. (j/k) Although I must admit that sometimes I do get a little (minute) slowdown in Max Payne. But playing at 1024x768x32 kicks ass compared to my old voodoo3 640x480x16, so I'm not complaining. I'd go higher, but my monitor sucks. Whatever. I'll shut up now.

Whats the differnece between the drivers your talking about ( detonator driver I pressume) and the drivers that you can get off the manufacturers site.

Which one's are best to use.

I have installed the drivers from abit's site, as my card is the GF2 siluro t400.

Would I benefit from the one's your talking about.

For what it's worth, I've never had ANY problems with 23.11's on Win2K Pro or XP Pro. Running a Gainward Ti200 (230core/530mem) on a PIII 800.

My current driver for my GF2 is saying 'siluro driver 2.1.8.3'

I presume the 23.11 drivers people are talking about would look like 2.3.1.1

Should I change mine to 23.11, as I have an unstable non overclokced abit kr7a and abit GF2 t400 siluro.

My query is that the drivers we are talking about here are not from the abit site.

Whats the difference between detonator drivers and drivers from the abit site.

thanks

i had that infinate loop problem with 23.11 ... it was working fine for few weeks then bam! i started to play CS and problem begins...

updated to 1.08 agp driver and reinstalled 23.11 but still the same problem...

i read somewhere that is because of more aggressive way that 23.11 takes on using the memory or something like that so there is a problem with openGL stuff...

well i've downgraded to 21.83 and it has been running fine.

wonder if 23.12 will be stable... hope it'll be all fixed now.

pillage2001 WHQL stands for Windows Hardware Quality Labs. They are a group in microsoft that supposedly stress tests drivers and slaps their seal of approval if its stable.

Could someone explain to me though, whats the differnece between abits gf2 t400 drivers and the detonator drivers.

My driver is 2.1.8.3

Should I upgrade to 23.11 or 23.12, bearing in mind I have an unstable machine and literally tried everything else to make it stable.

Thanks

Lee

i am stable under 23.11. If stability is only improvement in 23.12, i am thinking it's not worth it b/c I don't want to rock the boat so to speak. anyone seeing a variation in performance?

I`ve no problems with the 23.11 drivers I would say in general it`s probably 50/50 ,all my friends that use them have no problems,I`ve had the Nvidia loop error only once so far,I hear Nvidia are releasing new drivers soon based on 26.xx something so hopefully they will fix the problems that people have been having with the Nvidia loop error.

I've never had any problems with the 23xx drivers. I've downloaded the 2312s and I'll report back when I get a chance to try them.

Yeah, I have a boddy that has a very similiar setup as mine, just different manufactures of some of his equipment, and the 23.11 set runs great on his.

Unreal is the only thing that acts funny on my system.

It's probably just those fags that play Unreal. (j/k

I've just upgraded my ABIT GF2 siluro t400 drivers to 23.11, but cannot click the advance tab in the setting of my video card. It say's an error occured while windows was working with the control panel.

Anyone else use there display settings advance tab.

Not sure if I should have upgraded, but it seemed my old 2.1.8.3 were well out of date compared to you guys.

I just put them in. Seem OK so far. I'll play around with them more later. The D3D Vsync seems the same as 23.11. In UT, I'll never go above my refresh rate. If I edit my UnrealTounamanet.ini file and change:

[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]
UseVSync=True

I can go above my refresh rate. This seems opposite of how I would think it works.

BFG10K, let us know what you think.

Oldfart, assuming nVidia haven't changed the registry setting again, you should be able to use Riva Tuner to disable vsync in Direct3D.
