r u using the nero express software? i had issues with the hi-val burner and a full version of nero and roxio ez cd. at first it would detect a 24x max burning. then after i add sessions and want to start burning, it will be recognized as a 16x max burner. so eventually, i just forced myself to use the nero express that came with the cdrw and it burns 24x no prob. the nero express software is actually pretty good. i thought it was a crippled POS software at first, but hey... it works

agrees (good point!), but notes that
me owns two 32x benq/acers labeled mecer/mustek that have trouble with certain media (did not like ty tdk 16x)
friend owns 8x acer that is also picky with media
what media is being used?
also is dma enabled in bios and device mgr for drive?
good boards for troubleshooting
cdrfaq, cdrlabs, cdrinfo, cdrfreaks

Thanks for the heads up. Deal worked great in Knoxville, TN after getting the manager involved. He asked what radio station I heard it on and told him whatever station we have on at work. hehehe WANA!!! lol Scored 2 cdrw's and 2 packs of Samsung cd-r's for $41.25 OTD.

This is my first post here. I've withheld from joining the forums and/or posting, hoping I'd find something worthy of posting which wouldn't be a repeat of someone elses find, (which I know would generate lots of thread crap). However, I had to join just to say thanks for this great deal. I got in on this on Friday 9/20, and got the CDRW/media with no problem whatsoever. I've watched a lot of deals come and go but this was one I couldn't pass up. I don't have a tremendous amount of money to spend on things, (just added twins to the family recently, bringing the children of my loins total up to four), and was pleased as punch to finally get a hold of a burner for a price that my well worn wallet wouldn't suffer from.

Anyway, thanks to 'Savirol' and to all others who posted pertinent information like SKUs and locations. It's greatly appreciated and I have to say that these forums F*CKIN' rule!!!

I missed the free CDR's I asked at the counter what what on sale, I saw the burners and stuff missed the CDR's , They did have Maxtor 30gig ata133 7200 for $40, not advertise on the shelf but at the CS.

got in on this deal right as the new shipment arrived. the first sales rep i saw had about 10 stacked high getting ready to stock these drives. i interupted him and asked if those were the radio deal and he said yes. then i asked if he had the pacific digital ones but they just ran out. still hot deal tho. thanks mooo.
