Going to be in the city tomorrow(I'm close by), Houston and 6th. If the weather is decent(otherwise I'll need to find someplace with tables) I plan on trying Alidoro with a possible stop at Payard's bakery

Going with my wife and friend to NYC this weekend to visit a friend of my wife's that she hasn't seen in years. Will be driving there and will arrive around noon on Saturday, and start heading back noon on Sunday. Would like to try places unique to NYC.

What would you recommend for Saturday Lunch, Saturday Dinner, and Sunday Brunch (Any good brunch buffets?)? Recommendations for dishes at the restaurants you recommend would be great!

Will be staying at hotel near 7th Ave and W 51st St. Restaurants near here would be preferred, but not required.

For breakfast, in the area you're staying, I llike Pigalle at 8th and 48/49th is great, not sure if they do brunch but what i've had there has been solid.

For something fancier, I second Norma's in Le Parker Meridien. The breakfasts tend to be more like elaborate desserts, the PB&C Waffle 'Wich was freaking amazing, but it's small so get reservations.

Get a gyro from one of the halal carts. Mine was $5 a couple years ago and totally awesome. Those were the pretty much the only thing I ate for three days.

Even though this was about an event, thought I'd mention the Smorgasburg event, which runs 11-6 pm Saturdays (in Brooklyn at Williamsburg) and Sundays at downtown Brooklyn at the Tobacco Warehouse.
