24" Westinghouse L2410NM Widescreen LCD Monitor (1920 x 1200 resolution, HDMI)

The L2410NM uses a *VA (PVA I think). The offer better colors (8-bit vs 6-bit) and viewing angles over TN. The newest 24" and bigger models are all TN. The only compliant some have with the *VA panel is gaming lag can be more prevalent vs a TN. I have not noticed any problem, but YMMV. For the money, the L2410NM is a very hard monitor to beat.

Is a TN panel a bad thing if you always sit directly in front of the monitor? Is a p-mva or S IPS always better than some of the latest TN panels?

Ignoring all shortcomings of a TN panel and focusing only on viewing angles here:

Small monitor: No
Large monitor: Possibly, the larger the monitor, the harder it is to stay in "the zone" of a TN to see the entire screen perfectly.

I must be one of the lucky ones with this monitor. I have had it since January and it has been great. No ghosting, no issues with buzzing or screen-door effects. It has been nothing short of great.

I'm not doubting others with their issues, I'm just saying that not all are like that. If you get a good one, it's a great monitor.

The L2610 has some major ghosting issues, I can see the trail of the mouse pretty clearly while moving it against a dark background. It also won't work right out of the box using DVI-HDMI (although you only need to change the monitor settings to digital input to correct this).

it seems to me that every other monitor out there is a TN... Dell's, samsung's, scepter's, they all got under 8ms. Is there one that's not TN?

Ok, I bought the panel...
It is not half as impressive as my 2005fpw...
I like the fact that it has an HDMI port...

But the colors look sort of faded\washed out...
Movies look good on it, but XBOX 360 brings out the lack of colors all over again.

Mine was the last of 2 monitors at the Louisville Sams Club...(Fern Valley).

How are you conncecting the XBox? I have read various reports of the 360's vga output washing out colors on several different displays.

Have they fixed the problem with it not going into sleep mode when connected to a PC?
