I've got my 2400 mobile at 2.5 with 1.95V on an slk-700 with AS5... temps dont seem that bad right now at 52C full load, 30C system. Figure i'll still be under 60C during summer too. Most people seem to think that 1.95 is way to much power, while others say its all relative to your temps... i'm not sure which one is right but will probably clock down to 2.4@ 1.85 and run slightly cooler

Received my AMD Mobile XP 2400 today from Newegg. Runs stable at 2.5Ghz with 1.85 vcore and at 2.4Ghz with 1.75 vcore. Also, got this Thermaltake cooler that has an 80mm led fan Cooler for $12 delivered (nice cooler for the price). Running on a Shuttle AN35N Ultra 400 MB ($65) with 2x256MB sticks of cheap PC2700 sdram ($20 ea) in an Antec Lan Boy case ($60). Got everything on sale with rebates and coupons even the LiteOn 8X DVD-R/+R burner for $70 from deals mentioned in this forum. Went a little overboard on the UV/LED fans and UV lights from SVC but it sure shines!

Got mine yesterday, doing 2.3@1.6V with 47C idle. Boots at 2.585@1.89V with 58C idle haven't really stress tested yet but will see how that goes. I think i'm gonna need a better cooler to get any more than that though. Weird thing is, I swear my memory b/w was higher with my previous processor 79% effciency there is pretty bad :/

Thats a really good one. I got another one, which is way better then my first one, and it is doing 2.4ghz at 1.8v rock solid stable. It boots up at 1.75v fine but has problems with prime after 5 mins. To me, i think thats good enough...tempreture is around 51 under load, and 45 off load.

2600+ is your best bet for overclocking. 2400+ is best budget buy. Don't buy the 2500+. Go for either the 2600+ for a guaranteed high quality chip or the 2400+ to save money.

Your best bet for o'c is to buy the 2400 then use the $ saved towards a high-end heatsink. Getting any specific specimen of Xp2400, 2500, or 2600 that o'c better than one of the other speed-grades is hit-or-miss, but the heatsink is a known entity.

The quickest way I've found to tweak voltage/speed on these is to use Prime95's torture test set to [ OPTIONS | TORTURE TEST | IN-PLACE LARGE FFT ]. If the voltage is off (needed value per MHz) by much it may not even run for a minute. This testing would be made under the assumption you've already verified memory bus stability with memtest86

Here is the deal: Amd seems to be getting the same cpus out of the same batch that can go anywhere from 2400+ to 3200+. They just mark them just about anything that they want within that range. The reason behind this, is because they have perfrected the process of making the high end cpus, so it is cheaper just to make one speed of cpu and downgrade most of them to fill specific speeds. This increases their profits due to filling any order with the same cpu. That is also y the procs are all being overclocked up to the same range. Aka: any one of these will do u the same justice, just make sure its a moble cpu if ur planning on doing heavy multiplier changing ocing due to them being unlocked. If you are wondering about boards/chipsets: the abit nforce2 ultra boards seem to work well for ocing.

Ok, Committed myself into a mental institution - went ahead and ordered a 2400+ Mobile tonight! I can't wait to toss the 2000+ Palomino into the trash bin - that CPU has been "unreliable" for me for a long time. I'm just as glad that I bought a NF-7 last month to get rid of my buggy a year and half old Gigabyte GA-7VAXP board. Let's see how far this puppy will overclock once I get the CPU from newegg!

My 2000+ could only oc up to 1.812 GHz, and that was unstable, no pci or agp lock on that gigabyte board, and I dare not try to overclock this CPU on this nice motherboard.

Ordered 2x 2400's for my Dual rig, along with 2x Silent Boosts from Axiontech and 1GB PC3200 ECC DDR from Kingston. All found in the HOT DEALS section. They are on delivery truck right now, will post how the work . *might* need a new PSU.

Wow, I'm getting bashed (somewhat) for the idea of tossing the 2000+ away into the bin - if you desire to obtain my Palomino CPU, let me know via PM and give me your best offer and I will see where the price should lie at. I just woke up and I can't think straight at this time, so I'm not going to set the price but please set it at a reasonable level that would accomodate the 2000+'s current value.

So, reading theough this thread, it lloks like I could get the 2500+ change the FSB from 166 to 200 and have the equivalent of a 3000+ with close to zero risk?
What would be a good deal on a mobo to plug this in?

Well, 2500+ can definately overclock to 3000+ or higher. Even the Mobile 2400+ can go to 3200+ (2.2ghz).

Anyone getting the problem with Asus a7n8x-Deluxe v2.0 where if you go above 12.5 multpliler, it uses the lower one instead. For instance, 13x200 = 2600, but with a7n8x, the result is 5x200 = 1000.

Best I got with my 2600+ is 12.5x200 =2500

Im getting the exact same problem with the A7N8X-Deluxe. After burning in the processor at 2400 (12x200 @1.725) I was able to get it prime95 stable (over 24 hours) at 2500 (12.5x200 @1.825), so I tried 13x200 and it will only post at 1000 I know this bad boy can do more.... Hopefully someone in the forum will have a suggestion

Got 2400+ M from Newegg today - It's AQYFA Week 0343 - WPMW. I don't really know what this means but according to several sites, it can get to 2.4 GHz easily with 1.75 v at 12x200 or 12.5x200 (not sure which.. LOL)

Haven't popped the baby in yet.
