Which city/state is this store in?They had plenty of them in stock at my store, and they include speakers to I think, just need a monitor.
If I understand it correctly BB dosen't PM clerance items, of course you can always try.Cool, PM it at BestBuy and give em the shaft!
Maybe the Geforce will fit, if it is PCI then yes, no AGP slot. And it is does use PC2100 DDR. As far as an upgrade over a 450mhz sure you get a huge speed boost but for surfing/office/email it may not make that big of a differance.wow, very tempting. If I have an old GeForce 2 card and some extra PC2100 Ram, will this take it?
Also, would this be a decent upgrade over a P3 450 mhz pc? Might get this for my parents who just use Office, Surf, email

ScrapSilicon, I just got this computer and it DOES NOT have an AGP slot.
Talked to the CC employee apparently it isn't on clearance or something just thats whoever at CC exec decided to price it as. The tag on the system said it expires 6/28/03, is that the price? I don't know.
And a funny story the kid who sold me this computer looked like he was in high school and didn't know a thing about computers. He was trying to convince me that the 2.2ghz Celeron is old (which of course was released by Intel about a month ago), and that the processor didn't really run that fast and probbably did 1.2Ghz tops. He was telling me that this other computer with an AthlonXP 2600+ actually ran at about 90% of 2.6 Ghz. I let him ramble on for a bit and then I plugged in my USB flash drive (yea I know I'm a nerd) Ran CPUID from the flash drive to show the actual clock speed at 2.19Ghz. Then I proceeded to tell him that I work professionally in IT and he didn't say much after that.
I'm not seeing that one the page. I'm assuming this does not have an agp slot.Originally posted by: ScrapSilicon

so you save max $2.49 and not have an OS??? IMHO its worth my time to just pick up a nice little rig like this for a second computer...I have been waiting for something reasonable for the kid's computer and I think this is it. (yeah, he is only six, but might as well get him started early) Thanks miri!!!Originally posted by: Tot
Here comes the party pooper/hijacker/hitch hiker: How about building a system?
MSI Metis 266 for 106.5(accupc.com shipped if you are lucky like me I choosed fedx saver and got free shipping otherwise +10bucks)
AthlonXP1700+ for 41 bucks at newegg.
Ram 256-512 in bestbuy/kingston for 20-40bucks
hmm HD drive is a little tricky. Anywhere from 40-200GB deals. In the range of 50-110 bucks
CDRW is also alittle tricky. anywhere from free to 19.99
Modem- How about 10 bucks of pricewatch or anywhere you like.
Oh yeah speakers too.( lazy to find/fact0r in speakers coz I see this as a server kind of pc.)
Total depending on spec: 247.5 - 397.5(higher end is alittle expensive)
Couple of down side is that its only a low profile case. So you will need low profile cards.
Eg. low profile cards off pricewatch search : gigabit intel card = 40 bucks, firewire card = 20 bucks
Oh yeah, try linux too, just to spike Gates.
Fire away if I am annoying.

It's not super fast and certainly not much of a gaming machine but for those file servers, work computers, computers for old people etc it works fine.
