Agreed. Have you tried Dell's support lately? It absolutely svcks. I had a problem with my new 4550 in that it would blue screen when opening IE. It appears that some (all?) of the Dell support is staffed in Bangalore, India. Three different techs and not one solution...

:disgust: DEAD, DEAD,DEAD. I called 3 stores in my area and the system is now listed at $399. I called yesterday and it was $249. I couldn't get to the store last nif=ght so it looks like I missed this one. Dam, I wish I had made the time to go out and get one.

Pittsburg, CA has 10 or so of these on the shelf for $249 and the sign said until 6/28. I had to pick one of these up as a backup while I do some work to my real computers. I am not sure if I will keep it past the 14 days.Originally posted by: Kipper717 :disgust: DEAD, DEAD,DEAD. I called 3 stores in my area and the system is now listed at $399. It said the price was good until 6-28 on the tag I saw.You know what, the sign that I saw may have said 6/18 and the deal may be dead in my area also. Wife has me on some weird diet, I am blinded by hunger.

Picked one up for my son. Took out the cd drive that came with it and replaced it with a dvd drive I already had. Added a cdrw drive I also already had and added a 256 meg stick of memory ($37 at Sam's Club). Stripped off the software I don't use. It runs real well and quite speedy for such an inexpensive machine. As soon as my son copies his data files off his old computer I will reformat one of the hard drives in the old machine, add it to the Emachine as a data drive and it will be one nice machine for a teenager.

I got in on this deal. Quick question though. Can I just drop in a stick of 256 MB RAM in this and keep the 128MB that is in there for a total of 384MB, or do I need to install the memory in pairs?
Thanks in advance.
