Actually common sense would not say if you have more than one dimm slot you can just start dropping sticks in. Some motherboards require RAM to be installed in matched pairs. I am not sure about this machine, so I just was wondering if anyone had any first hand expirience with how these machine handled additional ram.

You're quite right. I don't know about this machine, but I did just what you asked in my Mother's 1.7GHz e-machine and it worked fine. Give it a try, it shouldn't hurt anything.

CrazyAl, you can put in another stick of 256mb PC2100 or PC2700 (backward compatible) and it will work fine.

If you haven't already done so you may want to go to OM and pick up a stick of the KByte 256mb PC2100 for free after $40 rebate.

Ah man, you had me excited for a minute! I was mad when I missed out on this initial deal. The $100 rebate is for a combined purchase of this computer + monitor + printer. Not nearly as hot.
