i placed 2 orders on friday. one order for 2 24x cdroms shipped last friday i beleive. the second order for one 24x and a 36x is "still processing"

All backordered now, (Was "in stock" when I ordered) I just sent them an email, I can't wait to see the bullsh!t response.

I, for one, am getting pretty fscking sick of the lame inventory of these online vendors..

Ordered a 32x scsi and ide about the next day after this post was originally posted. SCSI one has shipped but the IDE one is in process.

I ordered 2 on Nov 3 and they shipped that day. I got tracking numbers and they are supposed to arrive on the 10th.

I agree with you supersix, I called onvia to find out the status of my 2 that I ordered, and they told me they can't get them and some bullsh*t response that they update their inventory in their computer once a day. screw them. I even showed them that one they have in stock going for $19, and they wouldn't substitute it for the one I ordered even though the numbers were identical except the last letter, which was an S instead of B. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me from them, next so called deal I guess they'll be more available cause I won't be ordering.

I ordered two of these on 11/2/00 @ 10:51am. I talked to a CSR just 5 minutes before ordering on that day who stated they had over 400 in stock. Now they tell me I'm not getting one because they are sold out. I informed him that I've heard from people who ordered on the following day (11/3/00) and that they ARE receiving their drives, he apologized - go figure! :disgust:

I've had 3 orderes cancelled in 2 weeks. its really annoying. it makes the extra dollar or 2 seem worth while at buy.com or staples even.

Onvia is so busy getting out emails saying they don't have stuff in stock and the are neglecting emails by customers asking product questions. Been a couple days since I asked an email question...nothing yet.

I guess I will know better next time.

There were two revisions of the 24X drive up originally, the XM-6102B-S and the XM-6102D - the difference being the XM-6102D was a newer version of the drive and was slightly upgraded (faster DAE, etc). The XM-6102B-S was the one on the "alternative link" while the XM-6102D was the one spread all over on other boards as well. From what I understand the XM-6102D sold out right away while there were many hundreds of the XM-6102B-S and there still are some, now just priced higher at $19.99. All of my friends got their XM-6102B-S drives and none of the others, and one ordered right before the reprice, which was much later than many of you.
