Approximately 25,000 U.S. troops have been ordered to the Persian Gulf region starting in early January, military officials told NBC News, and the Navy has been ordered to prepare amphibious assault groups and aircraft carriers for possible action in the gulf, the latest wave in a deployment for a potential conflict with Iraq, defense officials said.
So it begins...
In response, on Saturday the Iraqi government scoffed at the preparations. ?Whoever dares to strike Iraq and its people will pay a high price,? the official Iraqi army newspaper, Al-Qadissiya, said in an editorial. ?The beating of war drums, the noise of weapons, the sending of warships, the mobilizing of armies will neither frighten nor terrorize the Iraqis.?
LOL! Be afraid Saddam, be very afraid...
