Go to Saturn's web site and request info about one of their vehicles. When you recieve the info (in about a week and a half) you will get a letter for a $25 gift card for either Borders (Waldenbooks), Target, or Webcertificate.com.

Take it with you to do a "test drive" and get it signed by the dealership.

Pain in the arse for $25, but free is free!

*Edit - the fine print on the bottom of the letter:

Must test-drive a new Saturn between 12/11/01 and 01/31/02. Voucher must be postmarked by February 7, 2002. Voucher is nonnegotiable and not redeemable for cash. This voucher is not redeemable in stores or online. Test-drive required. Offer valid when you test-drive a new Saturn at any participating Saturn retail facility. Offer is open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are licensed drivers and at least 18 years of age. For residents of Maryland, voucher validation required; test-drive not required. Saturn Corporation Team Members, Saturn Retail Team Members and their immediate families are not eligible for this offer. Only one test-drive offer per eligible test-driver per household within a 90=day period. Offer subject to change. This program may be modified, suspended, cancelled or otherwise terminated without notice. This offer is available only to the person named on voucher or may be transferred to immediate faminly members residing in the same household; otherwise, certificate is nontransferable. << does it matter which model we choose?
i chose it L-series
>>

That would be a good question. I got info on their new mini-suv, the vue, and that's how I got the voucher.

I did this a couple of years ago and had my GC card within 2 weeks. Beats the HELL out of Chrysler, who never seem to come though.

There wasn't mention of it when I requested the info either, but it came with the requested info. I'm thinking they're not advertising it to keep the trolls like most of us down!

I did this a couple months ago, and also received the gift card very quickly. I think at that time I requested info on the Vue, and actually test drove the V6 L-series one. Wasn't all that impressed with the car, but I was QUITE impressed by how quickly I received the gift card.

As a former Saturn owner, be forewarned. SATURN IS SUCK!! However, I also received my $25 GC quickly last time. I even told the salesperson I didn't really want to drive the vehicle cuz I had owned one and would never buy another Saturn vehicle again.

Thanks for the 6 month supply of TP and paper towels from Target, Saturn!

I got one. Waiting for my GC.

I think Saturn is one of the fastest sending out the gift cards

About the Chrysler deals,

I did the test drive back in late sept or Oct. Finally got the card early january...

They send you a debit card, which like other debit cards has 'fees' associated with it for using.

Not too bad, $48 or so still better than nothing.

Thanks bunker I'll try it. I got the full $50 by going to Albertson's store. I thought I'd have to buy
something, but I didn't. Chrysler sure took their time getting the debit cards out though. :disgust:

Whee, never done one of these test-drive-for-gc, but I'll give it a whirl. Thanks! How long does it usually take you to do the test drive?

If you *hint* to the salesperson that you are interested in the promotion and getting him to sign it, and that possibly you won't be buying a Saturn cause you really don't like them, and a test drive won't sway you, he may just sign it, put the pertinent info on it and you both will be ahead in time savings. How's that for a run on sentence?

Day before yesterday I actaully DROVE the Saturn for the GC, but just looked at a Pathfinder and got a signoff for the Swiss Army watch. Not sure if the Pathfinder deal is going to come because I just did the Infiniti i35 drive in November for the Palm M100. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

FWIW, when I ordered my Saturn brochure I specified the L100 and got the $25 ticket but ordered one for a daughter for a sportier model and the brochure came without the certificate. May be L100 specific.

I re-ordered for her yesterday asking for the L100 brochue so will see what happens.

Didn't care much for the Saturn and MUCH prefer my Durango to the Pathfinder.

Don't bother to be *subtle*. Just tell the nice salesperson that you are not interested in buying a car right now, but you would like to take their company up on the nice offer. You don't want to waste his time or yours taking a test drive. I've done it four times in the last month (Chrysler, Ford, Saturn, and Nissan) and haven't had to actually take a single test drive. Ford's $50 Webcertificate has been the best so far, although I am still waiting for a picnic set from Nissan and $25 from Saturn.

Do thank the salesperson, and maybe even take a business card in case you may some day really WANT to buy a car.
