So I take it you're suggesting that I downgrade 2 inches, and go LCD for the better quality picture?

Here's to hoping there's a stackable discount for Tuesday's email... if I can get the 1800FP arround 430 shipped, I'm doing it regardless of my budget.

Fingers crossed

Yes. LCD gives you use of all inches on the monitor, while CRT takes a few inches off. The quality of LCD, especially 1800FP, in DVI, is unmatched to a CRT flat monitor.

1800FP is a excellent monitor, get it while it's on sale.

Well thing is, I'm thinking about saving up and buying a 23" LCD Now THAT would be an upgrade on size and graphics. Edit: or cheaper, I could go with dual 1800FP!

You took my idea! Thinking seriously about picking up a mate for the year-old 1800fp I've got and then picking up some kind of mounting solution for the two...

Either a dual monitor support like the one on the left shown here...

Or mount them on separate articulated arms for greater flexibility like these maybe...

Unfortunately, I haven't thought of a way to run dual monitors from one pc and still support my kvm switch. So one monitor would likely be dedicated at this point, the other slaved to the kvm. (Then I get to juggle two sets of input devices again!)

cheers,
Gabe

I just dropped a 1901FP in a shopping cart but it comes up as $749. Hell, I can get just about any 19" lcd for that price. How can I get it at 25% off?

I am using dual 1800FP's DVI at work and it's great! I don't know how I ever managed without them

here's the breakdown:

if you're choosing from the dell monitors, *definetly* go with the 1800fp.

Still $449.24! (assuming you mean the 1800FP)

I added my third email account on yahoo last week... and my 10% coupon arrived just in time. With that onboard, it's $404.32 + tx to your door. Hope everybody else gets their coupons sometime today. Thanks again for the great deal.

Cheers

the 1900fp is a better monitor. it's a rebadged samsung 191T, argueably one of the best 19" LCD you can buy.

I own a 1800FP, its a great monitor and ive heard almost no issues about ghosting or dead pixels.

I have heard a couple problems with the rebagged samsung. some ghosting (could be their pcs tho..) and i have certinally heard of more deal pixels.

from my own experience, the 1800 is a very solid monitor thats wonderful for every day use. Ive run it on a analog connection and a DVI. The dvi is "perfect", the analog was also extremely good but you have to calibrate it yourself so it'll never be perfect, however quite acceptable. This is assuming you have a GOOD video card. Geforce 3 or better. No built in intel crap - it looks horrid with that.
