So I take it you're suggesting that I downgrade 2 inches, and go LCD for the better quality picture?

Yes. LCD gives you use of all inches on the monitor, while CRT takes a few inches off. The quality of LCD, especially 1800FP, in DVI, is unmatched to a CRT flat monitor.
1800FP is a excellent monitor, get it while it's on sale.

Well thing is, I'm thinking about saving up and buying a 23" LCD Now THAT would be an upgrade on size and graphics. Edit: or cheaper, I could go with dual 1800FP!

I am using dual 1800FP's DVI at work and it's great! I don't know how I ever managed without them
