Sorry but Microsoft charges $74.95 for the Intellimouse Explorer. The Intellimouse Optical on the other hand is $54.95. Soooo you are still able to get the $25 off but not quite as good a deal @ $49.95. I would recommend taking a look at this thread to get yourself a $40 Intellimouse Explorer

MS Intellimouse sucks as it dies after 4 months of use. Ask ppl who have them. Mine died as well. Lucklily, there is a warranty on it.

Mine failed too. I called them up and they sent me a new one (actually, the cheaper white IntelliMouse, I had the old mouse with scroll and IntelliEye). Best part was after I got off the phone I decided to cut a couple feet off the mouse cord and solder it up. Now the old one is working great on my brothers computer... It'll probably fail again some time soon . The problem is the cheapish wires in the cable. They break where the cord enters the mouse (or at other high stress points).

um, I've been using this PS2 Intellimouse (retail) for 11 months. I'm an equities trader, read "daytrader". Take it apart now and then to clean the blood off the rollers. However,I went thru 4 oems the first 2 years.

well i got one in august and its "dying" so i called up microsoft and they sent me a new one.

I guess Microsoft will eventually get tired of replacing them for people and make a better one, which will be shipped to you if you have that liftime warranty
I believe the only way to get the lifetime warranty is to buy the explorer because the others come with a (much) shorter warranty

i bought mine at buy.com . It too died. Wally world in town did the exchange! hehe. The manager was pissed because he knew it was the right thing to do. I like the intellimouse explorer. Cool mouse.
