grrr, the price dropped to $74.99 on the 512mb PC2700. I guess we should have held out alittle longer

This sucks. Wonder if you can call them and get the difference?

I was upset too, cuz i had Called and the lady said it was only for 2100. So i called again today, spoke with a nice lady, explained the situation, and she was like, ok, we can exchange them.

so i'm gonna send them my 2 2100's and they'r gonna send me 2 x 2700

just have to pay shipping there, but oh well

what you want to do is pull the 128 put the 512 in that slot...test for function..then put the 128 in the other slot...test for function....

You mean go into bios and see if it detects right? Anything else i should do?

Is this a really hot price, I would like somone to confirm this before I hit the summit button. hit the button already...yes

Hit the button too early man, could've saved me another $4 bucks.

How come my Part No. is CT289645 and not CT6464Z265 like everyone else?
that isn't a big deal ..it just so happens that is how you ran it thru Crucial's selector..the actual received stick will probably have the CT6464Z335 on it ..pc2700[/quote]

Are they really the same?

Received my 512MB PC2700 RAM from Crucial today and it's Samsung TCB3 chips on Samsung PCB. It even has the original Samsung sticker on it. Crucial just slapped their sticker on it and shipped it out.

I called this morning and spoke with a csr and asked about a pm. He told me that Crucial will as a one time courtesy give you the price difference. I told him I'd call back later with my order number to do the pm.

I'm gonna hold off until tomorrow to see if the price drops further. Could be cutting my own throat though if the price goes up

can those who recieved theirs already please post what chips they got? I am really interested in this deal and the above poster's have been great, but just to reinforce the probability of Samsung chips, I'd like to know.

Thank you.

Got mine today, but I got Infineon chips on my stick. Every time, before, I've gotten MT chips. I guess they sell different ones (see Samsung above)?

Also got my PC-2100 stick today. It came with Infineon chips. Runs fine at default speed with a pair of Mt 256 mb sticks for a 1 gig total. Anyone ever have any trouble running these larger DIMMS together without it being registered or ECC? Sandra gives me a warning about it.

People on FW that ordered PC2100 say they're getting Infineon chips while the people that ordered PC2700 are getting Sanyo <--- my mistake, this should be Samsung

Same seems to hold true here.

Hi there, I just got my 512mb pc2700 ram yesterday and the chips on it have Samsung all over it, the sticker said it's TCB3. Is this what i'm supposed to get? I'm trying to run Prime95 on it right now, what does this program exactly do?
I just recently got a new Dimension 4550, and it came with a stick of 128 ram. After removing the 128 out and putting just the new 512 stick in, I notice that my 128 said Infineon on the chips. Do you know if that is what I'm suppose to have? I thought you said Dell rams are from Crucial? Another thing I saw was that on the 128, the sticker said it's 128mb, 166mhz, cl 2.5, pc2700. Is it possible to be 166mhz and pc2700, cause the 512 sticker said it's 512mb, 333mhz, cl 2.5, pc 2700. Thank you in advance for your help.

It's been my experience with Crucial that you never know what chips will be on the sticks. Never have gotten a bad stick of RAM from them though...

Got mine today. Samsung chips.

Deal appears to be dead now ! Shows 60% off HP normal memory prices on link and when you go to crucial, it's the regular price now! :disgust:

OK, I got my PC2700 DIMMS today and they are not only Samsung chips, but they are Samsung chips on Samsung PCBs. The only thing on the DIMM that is Crucial is the sticker. This strikes me as wierd. Why is Crucial reselling Samsung manufactured RAM, do they not manufacture their own PC2700 RAM? I'm not complaining because Samsung manufactured RAM is great stuff. Just passing along some info.
