2500k's shipping now?

So, I'm seeing people with builds, I can order it online. Am I missing something? can I build a Sandy Bridge system now? What is all the talk about people waiting until april?

Lots of stores have also pulled the Sandy Bridge processors until the boards are available.
Motherboards are out there...there are some on Ebay for nearly double their retail prices...

first post here ! anyway i went to build an htpc yesterday at my local shop that i have been going for years and he told be to wait because sandy bridge were beginning shipping on the 25 of feb, so he should get them before the 14 of march. Anyone has more info on this ?

MSI has new MBs with the fix shipping today (to retailers).

April is old news and not accurate.

You can get the 2500K from newegg. It's just the board you have to worry about.

I also heard that ASUS is shipping their new motherboards this week, so we should be seeing the new motherboards in the stores soon.

Most of the resellers have put the processors back on their sites because there wasn’t any problem with them in the first place. Now to the issue on the boards, the new “B3” stepping chipset has shipped out and should start to appear at the resellers on new boards by mid-March.

In Santa Clara/Sunnyvale, both Creative Computers and Micro Center have CPUs and boards. Creative openly says that you SHOULD NOT use the Sata-2 ports if you want to do a build. When I last looked ten or so days ago, MC had both. (Not spending as much time in these places now that I've finished my build.) I expect new boards in soon, though. No harm in calling and asking.
