I was lookin for compact flash when i stumbled upon this:

use the 15 % off link found everywhere, then look up the device for which you wnat the flash card for, if it supports 256 there should be a coupon link for it, click the link and get the code, then enter the code during checkout.

256 mb flash for a canon g2 came to $84+tax shipped

I dunno if the amazon.com $20 off $100 electronics coupon is still alive but I picked up a Viking 256MB cf card there for $80 shipped after the coupon a few weeks ago. Supposedly, the viking performs better than the crucial in benchmarks

You didn't look too hard. $72 (+$5 S&H) for a Lexar 256MB 12x CF card here. This is a fast card! Crucial give no indication of the speed of their cards so I'd tend to assume the worst.

If you want FAST CompactFlash memory, for repeated picture taking, check into the Ritek RiData cards. They're rated at 20x.

The Kodak/Canon cards are the worst, several times slower.

The formatting is probably suck, but there you go. The Transcend is a whopping four times faster at writing. The "Mr Flash" stuff comes from NewEgg.

I wish more vendors would publish true write speed specs, since it matters quite a bit in a large-file digital camera.
